I need help deciding what to go with. I've had enough of my G25, I would like to play PCARS with a wheel, so unfortunately the purchase is imminent. My original decision was the Fanatec, since I could get just the wheel separately, price and all the praise this unit gets. But lately, people have been swaying me to the T300RS, saying it is superior. One major problem, it comes with pedals that I will not use. Suggestions, comments, help? Thanks.

I went from a G25 to a Fanatec GT2, & have had a few problems.

Firstly; on the G25 your hands & thumbs are positioned at 3 o'clock & 9 o'clock which is great for racing & general car control. However, on the GT2 your hands & thumbs are in the 2 o'clock & 10 o'clock positions, like a road car, & you have less control over the car. It's a very hard thing to get used to, & to be honest I still haven't after all these months.

Secondly: there are buttons right underneath where your thumbs are which are easy to press by accident. It's badly designed imo compared to the G25 wheel layout.

Thridly: The GT2 wheel is one of the most buggy wheels in Project CARS. While my wheel works fine in GT6, it's been an absolute nightmare to even get a few laps in P CARS.

Currently I'm on the lookout for a Fanatec CSR wheel to replace it with. I can only recommend a CSR as it doesn't suffer from any of the issues mentioned above.

👍

I own all 3 of the options listed. What I actually use is a T300 with T3PA pedals. The other two are in boxes in the attic. That sums it up really.

Put 'em on ebay, make somebody happy, or sell them to the OP!

Ha, I am having a similar decision to make as well
Currently still using G25 playing GT6, but in order to play PS4 I need to upgrade
Also living in NZ doesn't really help, wheel choose is limited.

I have options like
- CSR Racing Kit (Forza Motorsport CSR Steering Wheel, CSR Elite Pedals, CSR Shifter set) $800
- Logitech G29 Wheel + Logitech G29 Shifter $650
- Thrustmaster T300RS Wheel + Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter + Thrustmaster T3PA Pedal Set $1350

Which one do I go for?
I would like to play GT6 on PS3 and also PS4 Racing games
I also would like the clutch and shifter to be working on both GT6 and Project Cars for example

Any feed back would be appreciated :)
Cheers

Of the kit you have listed, the "best in slot" items would be Fanatec CSR Elite pedals, Thrustmaster T300RS wheel and TH8A shifter.

To make matters harder, the Fanatec kit is only confirmed working with F1 2015 and pCARS on PS4. Not (yet?) with Driveclub or The Crew or any future games. That's a risk you need to take into account.

Other than that, all 3 options are going to give you a nice experience. The G29 is obviously a sidegrade from a G25, as is the CSR kit (well, sidegrade for the wheel, upgrade pedals, downgrade shifter). The T300RS is going to be an overall upgrade, but at that price it's not twice as good as the alternatives and I'd have trouble recommending it.

In the end, if you like the G25 and simply want full PS4 support, go for the G29. If you want a change (smoother belt drive, but a bit more resistance and different kind of feel) you could try Fanatec. If you want the biggest upgrade and don't mind the price, only then does the Thrustmaster set make sense.

The CSR Elite pedals don't work on ps4 w/o a special cable connected to the T300S if you want the cheapest route.
There is someone here on the forum that makes them.
