g25 wheel help?

i have started this thread to find out if the g25 will work with the ps3 without a shifter attached and whether you can use the ds3 to navigate menus instead of the buttons on the shifter unit. it would be really great if someone could find out for me as i really need a answer to this question.

Did not try this particular case, but see no reason why not.

I actually used the g25 and ds3 controls at the same time, that is not an issue.
with the paddles on the steering wheel you could shift without the shifter.

Might find time to get my G25 back to a perfect working state tonight and can try it then.
 
i use a g25 and have the shifter attached. if you want to navigate the menus with the ds3 just set the ds3 as controller 1

just to make sure the g25 isn't registered as just a standard controller by the ps3 and you can use a ds3 to navigate the menus and having a shifter attached isn't a requirement.

Yes is the answer, a mate's car bit through his shifter wire and whilst it was off being repaired he still used wheel and pedals with no issues and ds3 to navigate
 
Yes it should work. The DS3 can be used by another person too, and you can counter the DS3's actions (such as scrolling through the XMB) with the steering wheel. Kind of frustrating to fight over who will win the tug of war on your XMB menu... pesky brothers :grumpy:
