G27 and Seventh Gear

Hey, I just got GT5P in order to hold me over till GT5 comes out and am enjoying it a lot with my g27(must say I like professional physics more than the TT demo but lets not get into that).

So I made it to S and got my shiny new s2000 and find it has 7 gears. So is there any trick to being able to use all 7 on the g27? The paddles dont work, is there some button I can set so when I press it it will engage the 7th gear? Its going to be crucial to have on S7. Help please...?

I searched but didnt find anything, I must imagine others have had this problem.

Try going to options then the dual force pro options and set R1 I believe to upshift. That should set the right hand red buttons on the wheel to upshift. You may just be able to use a controller to shift into the final gear as well.

Yup, the only way is assigning another button for shifting to last gear. Using the stick until 6th and then the button, since the paddles dont work at all with GT5P and the G27, sadly, has no sequential stick shifting.

Thanks for the replys guys but Im still having trouble getting this to work. Casey did you mean I should go to Driving Force Pro? It appears as if the controller will not shift up for me either. Do I have to put the stick into neutral and then try and shift up or just go from 6 gear?

Ive set just about everything to shift up but none of it seems to be working.

still sad that logitech didn't fix it and made a 7 gear shifter. They know that we need that. there is a 8 gear car in GT5P awell, though

Eh there's never been an H-pattern shifter over 6 gears. Certainly not anything remotely mainstream. The S2k is sequential stick, IS-F is conventional auto with "flappy paddle."

It's too bad the G27 can't do sequential stick shift..

Okay I just tried what I suggested and it does not work, guess I should have tested it first, sorry, I just assumed it would work.

I guess you're just gonna have to gear the S2K in a way where 7th isn't needed, that sure is a bummer.

Yeah pretty lame, when I run it in automatic it seems very slow. I just ended up switching to standard physics(I feel like thats such a cop out) and using the Mines car to beat S7, once i get the F1 car Ill go back and try for golds in everything.

A-5best, I also tried to assign new functionality to the six red buttons on the wheel. That would mitigate the missing functionality of the shift paddles in prologue. I changed the DFP panel settings with no luck.
If I find something new about this issue, I'll let you know.
