hi all, A mate of mine just purchased a G27 steering wheel and the problem is that you can't select 1st and 2nd gear with the gear stick . What it does is select 3rd instead of 1st and 4th instead of 2nd . I have a G25 and don't have this issue myself but thought it may be a G27 compatibility issue or a hardware fault.? The wheel was purchased new from JB Hi-Fi about 1 month ago. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the G27 yesterday. I plugged everything in. It calibrated itself as I turned on the PS3. The green light on the H-shifter panel lit-up. I can use the paddle shifters. I can turn the wheel and the car responds. I feel force feedback for everything. However, the H-shifter does not register I am switching gears. I press the clutch and when I got to 1st or any gear for that matter--it stays in neutral. I cannot get the H-shifter to switch to any of the gears. (Note: Reverse does work if I need to back up)

i believe you need to be in manual mode, than press the clutch as the race clock starts to enter stick shift mode. i have a g27 and dont like the clutch at all so i dont use it.

It seems the issue worked itself out. I can shift now with the h-shifter and clutch.

Pretty much it's either you got a faulty shifter from logitech or wires are ripped/disconnected, either way checking it is as easy as taking out the back screws and lifting up the cover carefully to check it out unless the wheel is brand new then you should just take it back to wherever you bought it asap.

My G27 has a ripped wire causing what OP described. Theres more than the back screws to open this cover though, still easy to get it open, remove the screws around the gear stick with an Allen (don`t do the same mistake I did by using a slotted screwdriver) and the three screws under there. I think too aggressive use of the gear stick caused the wire to rip out. It´s still not connected properly since I don`t own the right tools yet, but it works most of the time.

Lesson learned, use the gear stick of a Logitech gently. And tell others if you let them use it to do so aswell.
