Hi all, finally got a wheel for Gran Turismo and having issues. During a race at any given time, the green power light will flash on the gear changer and then the wheel will just re calibrate itself. Both the game and wheel being new, I am unsure which is faulty. Would love any help that could fix this problem with the G27.

Put the USB into the other port that runs from the wheel to the PS3 and see if it still does it and check the connection that run from the PS3 to the wheel.

Hi,

I had the exact same problem yesterday. My first thought was that the power supply was giving up, but since my G27 is nearly new (played maybe 30-40 hours with it) I doubted it.

I disconnected the power a few times & changed outlets to see if it corrected itself, but no luck.

So I disconnected the USB instead & it calibrated like it should on first try. Then I had to download and install patches & my G27 went crazy again.

I disconnected USB once again & got it to calibrate like it should.

I had no more problems at all during my 4 hours of playing.

I don't know why it did it or what could be the cause. I've never had problems with it before & the only difference since last time I played is that now it was GT6 & I recently had to upgrade from my old fat PS3 to the newest slim model.

So, my guess is the slim model or newer PS3 firmware is to blame.

I Will spend time with GT6 tomorrow. If my G27 acts up again I'll report back.

Edit: typo

Thanks guys.
I am installing GT 5 to test. Taking awhile as I played it on my fat PS3 which has issues. My slim is a fresh install. Once installed will give it a good test.

I have not had any problems with my G27 with GT6 after about 30 hours of gameplay. Sounds like you have faulty wheels.

There is a problem with the g27 in gt6 when you install a fully customizable gearbox. You can't use the gear stick anymore, you must shift with the paddles (which I only do on cars that have it IRL). Pretty annoying as I mostly drift in gt so paddles are a no no.

Mucked about on GT 5 and could not get the wheel to fault. Must be a fault in the game
My G27 is 8 month old no problem with GT6. But the wheel calibrate and the green light flashes before you start GT6 but not during the game that is strange to do that.

Faulty only with GT6?

Good to hear, mine works just fine with every other game I've tried as well (GT5, TDU2, Grid 1&2, Dirt 1,2&3)

So I find it hard to believe it's the G27 itself that is broken... It went crazy once under the xmb tho (no game running).

Edit: usual typo

My G27 is 3 yrs old now, survived the entire GT5 game play and has been working fine from day one, it must be the wheel itself, my suggestion is to either try another wheel on your PS3 or try your G27 on another PS3, that should narrow it down.

I just discovered the same issue today.
I checked for shorts in the wires and confirmed no shorts.
The wheel just kept cutting off mid race.
I thought it could be from movement in my racing rig so got up and went to the sofa. While in the menues with nothing at all moving it just started cutting out after about five minutes.
I use a USB extension cord which has never had any issues.
I wonder if a recent update demands more power/data out of the usb and the extension isn't cutting it without a booster

Just curious if you ever got your problem solved and or if you are using a USB extension as well?

I suspect the USB extension cable as well, but GT6 is the first game I've had this problem with.
