Hi everyone,

Real bummer just happened to me, went to play some GT5 after a long time without using the wheel and for some reasons the pedals aren't working properly.

Clutch and Throttle don't seem to be working but the accelerator activates all three functions although to varying degrees. Fully pressing it gives this result:

I've read around and saw how you should clean the potentiometers and stuff so I did a little test, I replaced the cables from the brake pedal and put it in the thorttle. The same thing happend only this time with the throttle pedal. So that obviously means it's not the potentiometer.

Does anyone here have any idea why this is happening? I honestly can't find anything wrong with the insides, all cables are connected and they seem to be in good condition.

Could really use some help on this one.

I've seen something similar to this before. Check the cable at the point where it exits the case. This is a pinch point where the insulation on the internal cores can break and you end up with two or more of the cores shorting to each other. For a quick test you could try moving the cable at this point to see if the results change. If you have a multi-meter then you can test the continuity between the pot connectors and the pins on the DB9 connector. Also test to see if cables are shorted out.

Do you mean the inside of the pedal case, or the motor one?

It's on the pedal unit, right where the cable exits the plastic housing. Because the cable tends to get worked from side to side over a period of time the cable tends to break down inside. Remove the top cover (plenty of guides on the Internet for this), remove the cable clamp and at the point where the cable exits the housing try moving the cable between your fingers while you're monitoring the properties i.e. the pedal inputs on the Logitech G27 Properties.
