Just ordered a g27 from logitech website, but have a few questions. As of right now, all I has is a DFP, and it has a few issues I was wondering were fixed in the g27 yet.

First of all, the spring strength, in the DFP the spring is completely unrealistic. In a real car, the wheel is pretty easy to turn, but quickly snaps back to center when you let go of it. I the DFP, the wheel is pretty easy to turn because of soft spring settings but the consequence of that is the wheel is returns to center anganizingly slow. So my question is does the g27 behave more like a real wheel in this aspect, or unrealistic like the DFP?

Secondly, how noisey is the wheel while turning? My DFP sounds like a wind-up toy when iy turn it, is it like that in the g27 or not?

Thanks in advance haha

The G27's force feedback is both snappy and smooth. Even with the FFB set to 1, it will snap to the center if you let go of it (not fast, but better than slow).
The springs in the pedals are way better than a DFP's pedals as well.
The G27's brake actually has a stronger brake force than my car.
The only real problem is that the pedals are really cramped together.

EDIT: and since the G27 has helical gears (like a road car transmission that doesn't whine), so it is very quiet. It's almost too hard to believe when turning the wheel at first, but it is VERY quiet.

I know I will be pleased, just want to know how quickly it snaps to the center.

How do the pedals hold up on the G27? I see everyone comment that the standard pedals on Fanatec wheels aren't very good but what about Logitechs?

Also i seem to remember reading that there was an option on the G27 to be able to move the pedals so they weren't so close together unlike the G25 which didn't have this option?

I'm seriously thinking about going this route instead of waiting for Fanatecs which are all back ordered etc. I also don't recall seeing anyone saying the Logitech wheels were crap or anything.

I'm wondering what kind of clamps etc does the G27 come with standard to use with a table until a person can get a stand of some sort?

Fanatec's GT2 wheel is supposed to ship out to customers(pure wheel only package) on Monday the 13th. Their Clubsport Pedals and Regular pedals are also in stock. I just bought a set of ClubSports last night and just received an email saying they shipped today.

Ok didn't know they had CSP back in stock. I don't need G2 as i don't have a 360. Also being in Canada i can order from Logitech Canada and only have to pay $9 shipping. I think the G27 is every bit as good a quality as Fanatecs are at least people that have them seem to think so.

OP...the G27 returns to center with about as much force as it does to turn. IE: it's very fast to return. Let go with your hands and it will snap back extremely fast.

So......I broke down and opened up my G27 and GT 5. Love it btw.

As far as sound, it is very quiet when turning the wheel. The helical gears make it very quiet............however.............

It makes a terrible clanking noise. As it has been described on here. Sometimes it literally sounds like the wheel is going to fall apart(mainly on rally dirt races). It is very noticeable. Im sure if you search on youtube, you will hear the sound I am talkings about. The clanking also happens when you drive over the edge of the track(red and white striped curb).

Other than that, the wheel is great. Feedback is awesome. I have mine set to 8 out of 10 on the game settings. Very good feedback.

I believe you will be happy with your purchase, as I am.:)

Kasey, I'm not sure that I have never noticed or what, but my G27 has never made any such noise that I'm aware of...it's quiet as can be all the time, no matter what I hit....no strange noises at all.....maybe I'm hard of hearing, or maybe your wheel is busted .. but I'd make sure if I were you. Good luck, Jeff

Clanking seems to be a sound from most g27's. Unless you got a really awesome one. Have you tried rally racing with it?

yep the clanking happens for me too, but only dirt rally-ing, its really annoying, I tried lowering the ffb strength from 8 to 5 but it didnt help, maybe I need to go even lower, havent tried that yet...

had the problem also on PC sim richard burn rally, but that was easily solved, only had to lower strength from 105 to 100 (in logitech software)

not yet.... so I guess thats why I've never heard it. Guess I have a loud clanking noise to look forward to when I get around to some rally racing, lol.
