Please excuse me folks. I'm new here, relatively new to such a realistic simulator, and also new to driving stick with only a few hours experience in Gran Turismo 5.
I didn't want to start my Career until I knew I could be competent on the road, and I already have a need for advice on the most embarrassing level...
My car is stalling / engine shut off when shifting into first gear.
Is there anyone here with the patience to help out a noob?
Here's what I'm doing...
I fully depress the clutch, and shift into first gear. As I slowly let go of the clutch, I apply the gas.
I found more success in applying the gas as I depress the clutch, and shift into 1st gear, but I'm being told that's not realistic by other more experienced drivers?
Thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
