In all my time playing this game I have never even attmpted to complete a full race at the test track. But this weekend was my first time playing in more than a month. I decided to do the Formula GT in the F090. Everything was going great. I was even willing to go through the entire test track. It was actually fun. I was staying in second place right behind one of the turbos. Then came time to pit. I crashed right into the end of the wall separating the pit lane from the track at full speed. It took me a few seconds to get out of that and by the time I did all the other cars were way ahead of me. By the time I got out of the pits they were seventeen seconds ahead. I could not catch up after two laps so i just gave up. Gah. What a bummer. I finally decide to do a test track race, it's going great, and I **** it all up.

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I've done that. I've gone on the Test Track so many times, yet I manage to keep doing that over and over and over... I think the main problem is that you're coming towards it so fast that you don't have enough time to see it coming (also, the wall is really light-colored, so it kind of fades into the background).

Actually. come to think of it, I seem to have really bad luck with crashing into pit walls, but I seem particularly bad about at Test Track and the dark courses.
 
Why would you pit on Test Course?




I have done every race on Test Course and I have NEVER pitted on that course. Why would you? It doesnt really slow you down, unless you're going 800mph.
 
crashing into the pit lane wall thing is the best when you and someone else play "tag" they either go into pit lane, or fly by you on the track, i do it all the time :D
 
i like it when im goin too fast into the pit and i just fly in one end and out the other. :)
 
Why did you want to pit?, you can do the Test track fine with every tyre on red.

Exactly. For any series that includes Test Course, you should always buy Super Slicks. If you forget, just run whatever you have on red all the way around, unless you know the competition is going to pit as well.

I was just following the the rest of the field. It seemed like if I'd gotten away from the field I'd never catch up to them again, which turned out to be the case. How can you win the Formula GT test track in an F090 if you can't draft?
 
Gearing perhaps? I'm pretty sure you can get it to be just as fast if you set up the gearing correctly.

But if they pit in and you don't you'll get ahead, unless they have a very big lead.

I guess you're right. Next time I won't bother pitting. I was thinking I'd have to eventually and it'd be best to do it in a way where I stayed with the rest.
 
I never pit on the test course. Never.

Such as the like the wind race. Fully modded 'scudo. With super slicks. The thought of pitting never came to my mind.

But, sorry dude.

Um, that's not exactly a very challenging race that you've set up there in the first place... I wouldn't care about pitting either if I knew I was going to win by a mile (or two).
 
I actually prefer to pit in that F1 race since the bloody car will start pulling to the left when your left rear is in shreds. Some rear wing adjustments should be done to the car if you're seriously going to tackle that race.
To not smash into the wall I try to stay as much inside as I can after finishing the last turn and drop about 25 mph, then as soon as I can make out some kind of gap I steer as hard as I can, usually I miss the wall by just a tad. :D
 
lol...pitting on test course

I feel your pain tho.....it ain't easy to put all that time to waste....=P
 
i pit on the test course just to keep things even :)
