Every time I finish a championship, when I select the exit button to go back to the events menu, the enter sound goes on normally and then it just stays at the final championship screen and doesn't change. Also, when I go to the options (to add custom BGM) the GT logo comes on and stays there. I bought another copy of the game (used) and the same thing happens. I don't want to restore my GT5 data. Took me ages to reach the stage I am. Is there a fix to this problem? Cheers!

Delete the game data (not the savegame).

Happy waiting. It's going to take a few hours.

But yeah, it will most likely work afterwards.

I'm doing the updates now but it keeps stopping. Luckily, it starts from the last update. I'm downloading the 8th update now. Any suggestions to stop the Errors from happening?

Glad I could help.

How do you delete the game data? Without losing ur saved cars etc

Here's how :):
In order to reinstall the updates, you'll need to delete the game data, in the XMB menu. (Be careful NOT to delete your savegame!)

From the SONY support:
In the XMB home menu, go to
icn_game.gif
(Game) > [Game Data Utility].
Important: Make sure you select [Game Data Utility]. Do NOT select [Saved Data Utility], as this will delete all of your saved games files.

Highlight the game data utility file (i.e., name of a particular game you have been playing) you wish to delete.

Press the
icn_btntriangle_color.gif
button and select [Delete].
3.jpg

Highlight "Yes" and press the
icn_btnx_color.gif
button to confirm the deletion.

A message indicating the file is being deleted will appear.

A "Delete completed." message will appear once the file has been successfully deleted.

If you wish to play this particular game again, you will be prompted to reinstall this game data utility file (which may take several minutes).

Removing a game data utility file will NOT affect your online stats (if you have any).
