I Haven't played GT5 for about a week or two because I've been busy with school, but i booted it up yesterday for a quick run. I Started to play in practice mode when after about 10 or so seconds, the game completely freezes, and my wheel turns all the way to the right. I restart my PS3 by pushing the power button once. It then takes about 10 seconds to shut off, and makes three quick beeps when it does. It does the same thing in Aspec races, as well as arcade mode. However, it will not do this if i'm online in some way, either in my lounge or in the open lobby.

Has anyone else had this problem? I usually get between 10-20 seconds into a ride before it completely freezes. I don't remember this happening before 1.06, and when I downloaded it I noticed it.

Is there anything wrong? Is this a glitch or should I restart (hopefully not) my game save?

I searched for a freezing problem on here, but I didn't get anything that was like mine.

Dont make a new save, that may be un necessary. Try dusting out the Intake and Exhaust ports of your PS3, with a can of Dust-off, or something. Also, check your disc for scratches, this is a textbook cause of freezing on PS's. Did you get 1.07 yet? Also, have you installed the Game data to your PS3 yet. One last thing, try loading the game, and the moment after it says "Start", pause, leave it paused for a few seconds (like 17-25), and then hit resume. And make sure your PS3 is sitting horizontal.

Well, I reinstalled the game, paused and waited, but the same thing still happened.

I then tried playing it on another account i had on my PS3. I never ran into that problem at all. This leads me to believe it's a problem with the game save, but I could be wrong. Any other suggestions?

It may be the game save, but that seems unlikely... search about corrupted game saves and such, there was fixes to that issue a while back

Well, I just booted up a back up save from about a month ago, and it worked fine. So I'll transfer all the cars from the "corrupted" account to one of my other ones, then transfer them back to my main account so it will be working again. Problem solved.

Are you using a custom soundtrack, if so disable it and you are good.

Actually, I am using a custom soundtrack. I'll disable it when I get home. Hopefully it works.
Thanks!

EDIT: Just booted it up with no soundtrack and preliminary results are good. Looks like it works. Thanks again.

You are welcome ;)
I think the reason for this is high bitrate mp3 songs that cause the issue. I have yet to try with a let's say 192kbps mp3 to see if it works. Usually my mp3's are max quality 320kbps files. Maybe I'll give it a try with lower quality and see what happens...
