Game Hangs on Prize Car

I searched for this, but couldn't find anything - my apologies if it is in fact somewhere here on the forums.

I've won the second special conditions races a few times to win the Toyota rally car for the 270k, but now if I win it, the "Congrats" screen comes up, with the name of the car, but no picture, then when i click "ok", the game just hangs, with the pointer arrow on the screen.

Is my save file corrupt? am i going to have to start over?? :(
 
I think it is, because that has never happened to me :|
 
Hmm it doesn't sound like a corrupted file but it does appear to be a particularly bizarre problem. I can't really help you on this one
 
as soon as i posted that, I thought also that it doesnt sound like a corrupt save file. What it sounds like is a disc error, when loading the car.

Sure enough, there was something on the disc. Now it works fine. Weird that it was in a spot that would cause a problem with the one race that I happened to be racing, but would allow me to do everything else.
 
Yeh, that is most unusual, at least it is resolved now.
 
Nice... just make sure that it doesn't get to dirty/scratched up. Mine don't work because of this, no matter how much I wipe it. :( I had to get a new one...
 
That has happened to me once...during the License test prize winning screen. I did not save where there was one test left; so I had to do all the test over again.
