Game Invite?

After reading the Asian Online Tournament, I noticed the following:

On the day of the semi-final and before the match, PSN team will send a "Game invitation" inviting semi-finalists to join the match.

Are we able to send game invites to friends too?
 
I ws wondering the same... And if it is available for use i would be a great feature to race with all your friends at the same time! :D
 
As of now, despite what is said on the back of your game case, there is no actual invite system. Instead, you have to manually send a message to a person asking them to join your game.
 
Some time ago there was a news post speaking of car clubs. It stated that you was able to buy a club through PS Home and invite people to it. From there you would be able to invite anyone you like. I'm not sure if the lobby invites will be tied in to this.

No, I think you are taking about GT Driver's Club which hasn't had any new info since that original post. There was nothing in that about buying clubs in Home, or sending invites. Maybe you are taking about something else?
 
Some of the newer games that have been released support this. I know for a fact NASCAR 11 does. It would be nice if GT5 supports it in a future update...
