Anyone else getting this? I thought it was just a blip at first but it's happened to me at least six times, game disc is clean, not aware of any corrupt data but on loading a track, the progress bar maxes out but then stays like that, and nothing can be done except quitting out.

This seems to happen to me when I am grinding the Dream Car Championship in B-Spec, on the second to last or last track. It also hasn't saved any of my winnings from the previous races so I lose those as well as the championship bonus. This looks to me more like a bug, has anyone else had this?

I had to buy a new cd . Same problem would get to any load screen especially the online lobby and just load for 10 min . Cd had no scratches . Tested on my friends ps3 had same problem .

I was having several annoying lock-up/freezing issues as others in this thread are describing.
FIRST thing I did, delete all in game personal music
THEN, deleted all replay data
THEN, I deleted all photos
FOR ALL ACCOUNTS ON MY FREEZING PS3

THEN, entered "recovery mode"
Then clicked option #3
Then I clicked option #4
Been running for the past 10 weeks without a single lock-up

If it persists i'll try the back up and delete all data route and perhaps recovery mode, just seems odd, only had the PS3 since November and it always seems to freeze at the same point, when the progress bar to load a track is full and you expect the crowd and engine SFX to fade in. It just hangs at that point (in fact those sounds usually kick in before the bar is at 100%)

It's also odd that it ignores the previous wins in a championship, as I thought it auto-saves after each race, but apparently not :grumpy:

One question: Have you been glitching? When you glitch you are exploiting a bug in the programing and problems will arise, plain and simple.

I had the same problem. I had to delete the data saved on my ps3 and re-load the software from the disc and then re-download.

That fixed it but I lost all my photos and replays so make sure you back it up if you do this.

I backed up my save game and reloaded when I finished

I thought the replays and pics were part of the same saved game file? Is there a separate file i'm missing, or no way to back them up?

I've had the same problem loading tracks, doesn't matter A-Spec, B-Spec or seasonal. I only know a race will work is if only an error about no music playing. I have an old fatty PS3 and my sons new slim PS3 and have had the same thing happen.

Did you resolve your problem?

I've had it lock up a few times. You can tell when its going to freeze by how fast the last 25% loads, when its gonna load up it'll shoot up from 75% to 100% quickly, when its gonna freeze it slowly moves from 75% to 100% and gets stuck a 100%.

I had a custom track freeze on me, it was an old track so I saved it again to see if a newly saved track would freeze, and it didn't. Maybe that was just a coincedence, I dont know.

And another....

I don't think 1.10 is the problem, I think it's a combination of custom BGM and the 3.66 update.

Many other users of both this game, and others, have noticed stability issues (hang ups, frozen screens, etc.) since 3.66 was released.

Kaz has tweeted that PD is working on stability on their end, but as usual there's never a timeline.

A cursory glance at the billions of threads posted here daily about this issue leads me to believe that

A- yes, they know about it.

and...

B- yes, they're (Sony and PD) are working on it.

After wasting 30 minutes last night trying to gift a damn museum card, I understand the frustration at not being able to enjoy what we paid for. That being said, at the moment, there's also not a lot we can do about it.

For "preventative" measures, please do the following:

1. Clear your system cache.
It's in your Network Options. No evidence that this helps, but it has been known to improve loading times in the past. If your PS3 talks to PDs servers, clear your system cache daily.

2. Disable custom soundtracks. Kaz mentioned this in a tweet a few weeks ago. Again, if your PS3 talks to PD servers (online races, Seasonal events, Remote Racing, item gifting- even the free paints and cards, etc.), you'd probably be better off listening to the car anyway. Most have reported a noticable improvement with Seasonals after doing this simple step.

3. Reset your internet connection before playing. See that power cord on the back of your modem? Yank it, then replace it BEFORE you power up your PS3 and access the network, let alone play GT5.

4. Pray to deity of choice. Might seem blasphemous, but who else are you going to call? (Ghostbusters is too obvious) Maybe YOU will be the lucky one Jesus/Mohammed/Allah/Xenu/Santa/Tooth Fairy will answer, and maybe they'll grant your one wish to fix your games and PS3. Probably not, though.

If all that fails, proceed to Sony customer support. They're about as useful as #4 anyway.

Good luck
