PS3, CE, DFP, sometimes will run one race just fine, then the next, car will not accelerate. Happens with different cars, different tracks, different times.

Happened in NASCAR Challenge, with a Miata, Alfa 8C, Lotus challenge at TGTT. Sometimes will run first race in Clubman Cup just fine, get to second race, won't go over 60 mph. Restart will fix it, but today, only temporarily.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

What controller are you using - or is that hinted at in the CE, DFP section of your post?

It's a Collector's Edition CD, Driving Force Pro.

Seems fine most of the time, just occasionally.

try it with the controller and see how you get on?

I have the same setup as you and never had that happen before.

start eliminating things. Does the controller work? I know its a PITA, but take your wheel to a buddies house. Try it there, if it does the same thing, obviously its the wheel. If it doesnt, its either the ps3 or game. If that happens, have a buddy bring over his copy of the game, and try it. If it doesnt do it, its the game, since you know your ps3 works, and the wheel works. Process of elimination.

Well, tried the contoller, it worked fine, ran the Clubman Cup championship. Switched back to the wheel, worked fine through the whole Clubman Cup race series, then went and got bronze on the bus run, thought it was happening again, but those dang busses...finally got silver, went to the Lotus...whell worked fine.

Ran the Beginner AMG set, finally did it during the full lap run.

Don't know if it matters, but everything before was on line, this 'test' was off line.

I had the same problems with my DFP ,the main problem was the accelerator ,it would stop responding alltogether sometimes. i found that if you unplug the usb for a couple of seconds it would work fine for a while ,usually enough time to fonish the race. After much frustration with this i pulled apart the peddle assembly and cleaned everthing (there are small rotation sensors that can become quite dusty ) but this seemed to have no real effect to the problem, in the end i just updated to a G25 👍. Hope this helps ,
good luck mick

Thank you all for your responses.

Some things I forgot to mention, when depressing the accelerator pedal, telemetry would show throttle being applied, but car wouldn't go anywhere.

Just a hint in case anyone runs into this again.

Borrowed another wheel, everything works fine...

DFP just finally bit the dust I suppose.
