NBA Live '06

The graphics look really good, you can see the sweat and the detail of their clothes, but the players themselves move like robots. They're movement is not fluid, the framerate isn't very smooth. Not to mention, for shooting a hoop, it's too hard. Whether you make it or not depends on your luck. And the game doesn't save your players that you customize.

The career mode seems a bit lacking, or weak, since I can simulate the whole season with a star team, and win the championship, and easily earn 600 gamerpoints just by pressing the A button.

The online is pretty dumb too. The games are too long, since if you play through three 8 minute quarters, and you leave, or the other guy leaves, you just screwed yourself of 20+ minutes without anything.

The game overall is decent. I did like the practice court that you can use while you're loading a game.

Rating: 5/10

If you don't care for Basketball, avoid it. It will end up as being a trade-in to GameStop within a month. If you kind-of like Basketball, this is a rental, if you love, and I mean love the sport, you should still rent it. I wouldn't buy it unless like I said, you're a die hard fan, and the game was on the discount shelf for $20.

I'll do one!

Project Gotham Racing 3

Hey kids! Do you like to drive fast? You you like to drive like an idiot? Then you'll love PGR3!

Yes, Project Gotham returns on the XBOX 360 following up it's two predecessors carrying the same name. Although it's roots can be traced to the game Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast, PGR3 takes the step into next-generation gaming with a full sprint.

First things first, the graphics are beautiful, unlike anything seen before in videogames. Each city, car, and car interior is rendered to the best ability of the boys at Bizarre, far beyond what PGR2 could ever have been. Nearing 100,000 polygons in the cars themselves, the game looks nearly reaslistic on an HDTV setup. Don't have one? Don't worry... It still looks great on a regular set as well.

Gameplay is still familiar, and yet has been tweaked slightly between PGR1 (Arcade to the max!) and PGR2 (a bit on sim baked-in). PGR3 still allows for crazy sideways action in nearly every car, but given the higher power of the 360, it allows for gravity and grip to be considered a bit better in the game, and thus some cars handle more like they should in real life. But, it is still the pick-up-and-play type of game as it's predecessors were, and they still offer plenty of fun both online and offline.

Offline the player can do the standard Career Mode, racing through the cities (London, New York, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Nurburgring) aquiring the different medals for each race (steel, bronze, silver, gold, platnum). Career Mode also brings back the grages from PGR2, all of which are highly styleized for each city they are in. The garages and cars are all renedered, and you can walk around them enjoying the sights of the garage or looking at your beautiful cars.

Speaking of cars, there are a lot to choose from. Makes and models range from Bentley to Ford, Lamborghini to TVR. Downloadable content is available over XBOX Live, and has added to the lineup over time, now with three expansion packs available. Every car (except the Cooper) can do 170 MPH, and range from the average to the extreme. You are bound to find your favorite supercar in the game, and as the list continues to grow, you can be certain if it isn't there now, it will be soon...

Online again is much the same as it was previously. Although new racing games have been added into online mode (some of which modeled by special games played with PGR2 online), most of them aren't used. Cat and Mouse is still a favorite, but many people prefer to just race.

Overall it is a great game with a good ammount of replay value. I'd give it a solid 90% on the awesome scale, as it is something any racing fan should have if they own an XBOX 360...

There are quite a few great 360 games out there but these are the games I currently own and really like a lot. If you want more detailed information, videos, or pictures just do a search on the name of the game listed below. There are threads on this site for each one of these.
Or you can visit gametrailers.com. They have tons of review, preview, and lots of videos of any game you want.

1. Project Gotham Racing 3 (must buy)
One of the best race car games I have played. Beautiful graphics. Points(Kudos) for just about anything you do. Single player is wonderful and the online play is also very fun. Cars ranging from muscle cars to Lamborghini. If you like car games this is a must buy.
2. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (must buy)
All around very impressive 360 game. Excellent graphics. Awesome single player and very good multiplayer online.
3. Battlefield 2: Modern combat
Absolutely awesome game online if you like fast paced action with tanks, helicopters, hummers, other vehicles, snipers, rockets, C4, grenades, and lots of explosions. 20+ online. I usually play Conquest mode. You have to get flag locations and hold them. The team with the most flag locations wins the game. Very fun. The single player is fun but its a lot better online.
4. Kameo
One of the most colorful games on the 360. Just amazing in HDTV. very enjoyable since your character Kameo can switch into other characters to help solve the puzzles and beat main enemies.
5. PREY
Very impressive single player game once you get past the first level. First level is very cheesy. This game warps and twists your mind. One minute your on the ceiling the next minute your walking on the wall. You never know where you are. This runs off the Doom 3 and Quake 4 engine so if you like those games you will love PREY. (The online can lag quite bad so I would not recommend this game for online play)
6. Dead Rising-The attention to detail is mind blowing at times. Hundreds sometimes thousands of zombies on the screen at once. Yet you can still zoom up to any magazine anywhere in the game and actually read it with no problem. In a game this huge it just simply blows me away how much attention to detail is stuffed into Dead rising. There is so much to this game its impossible to comprehend. I havent even found everything in this game but I would say its one of xbox360 games that you must buy. 👍
7. Test Drive Unlimited (Must buy)-This is a must buy for anyone that likes racing games. Might actually be THE best racing game I ever played. 👍
8. Saints Row - Over all its such a great game with well over 100 hours of game play to keep you busy with the single player. Some of the multiplayer modes lagged too bad to enjoy but the co-op and bling my ride were very fun. A lot like San Andreas so if you like that type of game you will really enjoy Saints Row.
9. Gears of War-Drop in drop out co-op campaign and the best graphics on the 360. Multiplayer is a bit boring since it is only 4vs4 and only 3 game modes. The co-op is definetly something every 360 owner should experience.
10. Rainbow Six Vegas(Must Buy) 4 player co-op campaign, 4 player co-op terrorist hunt, extremely fun single player and very fun multiplayer online makes for one of the best games on the 360.
11. Viva Pinata-If you like roller coaster tycoon, zoo tycoon, Age of Empires 3, or sims then you will love this game.
12. Marvel Ultimate Alliance - If you like Gauntlet Dark Legacy then you will love this game. And it is even 4 player co-op over xboxlive. Excellent game!!
13. Crackdown Very very good sandbox style game with full co-op and no loading screens. 👍
14. Earth Defense Force 2017 This is easily the best $39.99 I have spent on a 360 game. If your not screaming out loud with excitement on some of the levels then you simply dont have a pulse. The last levels are absolutely jaw dropping. I guarantee no one has seen anything like this when you hit those last few levels or some of the epic boss battles. 53 levels, 170 gun variations, massive huge enemies some over 20 stories tall, command tanks, helicopters, and mechs, co-op split screen and hundreds of enemies on the screen at once make this a classic that you dont want to miss.

I mentioned some of the best games in the previous post. Now time for the WORST game I have played on the 360. KING KONG. Terrible in every way you can imagine. Thats all I really need to say.

It's good for getting an easy 1000 gamerpoints, so at least it has one decent use.

I would not recomend King Kong to anyone for any reason at all. Not even for the gamerpoints. I think it took 8-9 hours or something like that. Every minute sucked especially when it was glitching and I had to restart a couple levels. :ouch:
I also have it for the PC and I will never play it.

I just HAVE to add Dead Rising to the list-The attention to detail is mind blowing at times. Hundreds sometimes thousands of zombies on the screen at once. Just trying to get all the achievements is taking forever!

I think a thousand zombies is over-reacting a bit
Have you ever went into the tunnels underground? A thousand is not an exaggeration. How do you think I already have the 53,000 zombie geonocide kill achievement. :sly:

Well I haven't played the full game yet, but displaying 1000 zombies on the screen is a very laborious task, even for the 360. Give me a picture and I'll count the heads

Like I said, just wait until you get into the underground tunnels. You will quickly retract your above statement. :)

I'll add to this...

Madden 07

Last year was all about the Quarterback but this year..it's the runningback. Well this game is the best football game that next-gen has to offer in my opinion and it's a must have for football fans that have next-gen consoles. Why? Well I'll start with the new stuff.

New features is the new "Lead block" feature and "Highlight stick" to help add to the running game. The Lead block feature makes you able to take control of any blocker on the field to make blocks that the CPU was once made to do for you in the last game. It's a great add and a big 👍 to gameplay this year. The other feature is the "Highlight stick", which works just like the Truck stick last year but this time it also works for smaller RBs this year because last year the truck stick was worthless to small RBs. The Highlight stick can make small RBs evade tackles this year which is just as effective as last year's truck stick.

That was new features for the gameplay but there's new modes for the game too and they're very fun. The modes include "Superstar Mode", (Which was tweaked from last year), and new mini-games. The Superstar mode is the most unique thing I've seen in an NFL game in my life. It lets you play one specific player and you see if you can get him to the Hall of Fame. Cool thing about this is that you can pick ANY position from the field!! The gameplay is real nice with the one player you play. It makes you control you, and only you. And when I mean you, you cant control anyone else and the camera is set on you :) . The mode is really nice and all but some stuff really bothers me about Superstar mode:

-Camera gets annoying at times.
-Practices during weekdays arent really neccessary.
-Not much "Off the Field" activities other than e-mail.

The rest is just nice. Also the mini-games are quite new this year. They include a 40 yd Dash, Bench press, QB challenge, Blocking challenge, and my favorite...coverage challenge. All are very fun to play and there are no glitches or any bugs that mess it up.

Last things I'd like to mention...
Online is real nice this year. So far not much lag and no glitches. Graphics are insane, sort of like NCAA 07 but a lot better...and the details are 👍 👍 .

Graphics: 9.5
Close to perfection. The detail is marvelous.

Worth picking up for the football season.

That's because it's the only football game for the next-gen. You can't call it the best when it's the only one out there.

That's what I'm saying. Not sure if any other football game in the future can top this. EA brought out a great product.

Let me guess: Madden 08 will probably top Madden 07. Or a Madden/ESPN 2Ksomething game on the PS4 would seriously pwn this.

I'm not doubting you that '07 is a good game. I'll probably buy it when it's $10, which will be within a year. But to say this 2nd gen X360 game/1st gen PS3 game will be better than any other future football game is dumb. Physics will get better. Graphics will get better, maybe drastically in the PS3's case. Tried-and-true ideas from this game and new ideas in future games will be combined.

If I'm supposed to interpret "game" with "series/franchise", then Madden is definitely not the best one. If EA weren't such pigs getting the exclusive license to the NFL, and ESPN 2Ksomething were on the next-gen consoles, they'd put Madden to shame.

I'm just saying it's a real good game. And yeah I'm smart enough to know that future games will be better but we can't guarantee that. Plus I said that I thought Madden 07 can get any better because I dont even now how they can really improve it.

Plus, what I meant to say or what I thought you would think is that I said, "the best football game next gen has to offer as of now".

P.S. Not trying to say your stupid, and hopefully your not trying to say I'm stupid either.

The demo is out. But why cant EA make realistic looking players? And why do they use the same lame robo animation system from last gen? Why do they use the same lame camera durring kick offs and punt returns? Why do they hold the ball funny when running? Why do they aim for -30fps? EA please ansmer me?

I'll download the demo and try it.

But hey, it is EA (if you can't beat them, buy them). All of their sports games suck. It'll take another year or two for their games to be truly next-gen, and even then they'll be half-assed. I just hope the sports games, and other EA games, on the PS3 are 60 FPS.

Ok, I played the demo some, so now I'm dissecting.
But why cant EA make realistic looking players?
It's probably because Madden '07 is the same game on the Xbox/PS2, and they're upgrading the graphics some. Not completely next-gen.

And why do they use the same lame robo animation system from last gen?
Actually, I thought that was pretty realistic. It was definitely not robotic, unless you've played the game for 10 hours and you've seen the same animations 3 times.

Why do they use the same lame camera durring kick offs and punt returns?
I didn't think it was lame, but it wasn't top notch either.

Why do they hold the ball funny when running?
Wondering the same thing.

Why do they aim for -30fps? EA please ansmer me?
Well, it's not like this game needs 60 FPS. The framerate is real smooth, unless you love watching close-up replays a lot.
Fight night wasnt bad. That game rocks
Well, I thought is was pretty good, but it got boring after a while. If there weren't achievements (okay, you can call me an achievement whore :P), I would've stopped halfway.

Its not the animations them selves(they look great) but the transitions from animations to next and pivoting player movments looks more robot like than human. 2K5 still has a better system for the animations.

I guess you are right about the frame rate but all current gen maddens have been 60fps.

I actually like EA, does that make me "lame" . I haven't really liked the last few NFS games but their sports games have the best gameplay in my opinion.

Just had to put this game on the list! I added this to post #5 above.
Test Drive Unlimited-This is a must buy for anyone that likes racing games. Might actually be THE best racing game I ever played. 👍 Yes its THAT good!

I wanted to add Saints Row to the list in post #5 above. Over all its such a great game with well over 100 hours of game play to keep you busy with the single player. Some of the multiplayer modes lagged too bad to enjoy but the co-op and bling my ride were very fun.

Definetly add Gears of War to the list of games you must at least rent. The co-op is quite possible the best thing I have experienced in a FPS. The graphics are also the best on any system including the PC. The multiplayer doesnt have a lot of options but it runs almost perfect and the graphics are exactly the same as the single player. I can easily see GOW winning game of the year award.
I will also added Rainbow Six Vegas to the list and Viva Pinata.
I updated my list in post#5.

New Review :)

Burnout: Revenge

Do you like speed and carnage? If so, this game is perfect for you!

There are a few game modes, heres the layout:

Race: First cross the line wins

Eliminator: Last place after every lap is knocked out until there's one left

Road Rage: My personal favourite. Theres a blue team and a red team. The blue team has to cross the finish line before being takendown. If takendown, you are able to continue playing, but your there as a protecter. You cant win the race, you can only take people down

Traffic Attack: Crash into traffic cars to build up cash (yawn)

Crash: Previous players of burnout know the game. You take your car and try make the biggest amount of carnage. You only get one shot. If you miss the cars completely, you'll just have to wait for the next round.

Burning Lap: Set a fast lap around a track

Crashbreaker Race/Eliminator/Road Rage: Excactly the same, except when you crash, you're able to blow up your car to try takeout nearby cars, at the sacrifice of boost.

After a race, your able to save a 30 second clip of a specific part of the race. You are able to then upload the clip to ®Xbox Live. If your clip gets alot of attention, it is possible to get into the top 20 clips.

The learning curve is easy. It takes about 0-30 mins to get used to the game and the controls etc.

Verdict: As I said, if you like speed and carnage, you'll love it. But if you're a serious racer that likes your racing games, it might bore you after a while. It gets a bit repetitive after a while too. ®Xbox Live is good fun with a few friends, taking each other and just enjoying the craic.

Score: 8/10

Buy, rent or avoid?: Depends. If you're not sure you like this sort of game, RENT it first. Otherwise, its a BUY
