Game Save... Confused ?

Reading through post on game saving... I assumed that it meant saving your completed races..i.e. trophies..miles..cars etc on to you PS3 hard drive? The question I have can you be doing one of the "championships" multiple race courses.. 4 to 6 courses and stop after a completed course and save the information without having to race all courses in the same sitting. Some of the higher levels I can't do the whole thing at one time.... I have a life outside of GT ? Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated ! Thank You
 
No in-race, in-championship saves yet.
 
nothing you can do but leave your ps3 on and continue afterwards.
