Game takes forever to download.

I purchased GT6 today, took a long time to install all the updates. Like 1 hour.

Now it says it's installing updates, Not PS3 style, GT6 style box. Currently says approx. 280 mins left. At one point, it said 770 mins left, which is nearly 13 hours but it dropped to this.


I'm impatient. :(
 
Sounds about right, took me 7 hours to download the game and updates. The installation timer is very off, "5 minutes" took a half hour...

Yeh, mine wen't down to 5 mins after about 5 mins after posting this and then it took another 5 mins to get to 3 mins left with a bar of about 20% :(
 
yeh. I don't know when i came home, but it was about 11/11:30, now it's nearly e 3.


I hope the wait was worth it.
 
Took me nearly 3 hours to install. That would be Eastern Standard Time BTW... lol
 
I purchased a cheap used PS3 and I thought I must buy GT6. So I bought it and then the update madness started. First of all I tried to load those updates with wireless network but that was rubbish. So I had to took 10 meter network cable from other room and then updates loaded much quicker. I tought it was already over when updates were installed but then I noticed that the game must be installed to hard drive. And that took so long that I wasn't even sure was it going anywhere. But just a moment ago it finished and I'm still very happy althought it took almost 9 hours to get the game playable. Tomorrow I can start playing it and I'm so excited.
 
Tell me about it, it has been 6 hous an only halfway through
 
Let me count the issues...

PSN is slow
PS3 wireless is slow
PS3 unpacking/decryption is slow
GT6 is huge with Vision and the numerous patches
PS3 hdd is crappy

yep, this is the PD experience

To be honest, PD caters to us here... ie. we buy the game day 1. we keep up to date with the bimonthly Vision and patches etc.

What I normally do is I see that a new Vision or patch is out. I know its 500Mb+. I get it going as soon as I get home from work.

I have dinner. Kids time etc. on the xbox.

Then maybe I can play the new Vision before I go to bed.

Such is the GT6 lyfe.
 
Ugh. Ill be buying this in the following weeks or so. I have finals. Class ends the 15th, and ill go get my paycheck at my boss's house after semester is over, then off to purchase P:Cars.
