Game update aborted endurence race

I was 5 hours and 38minutes in the Tsukuba 9hour endurece race when the black screen with the game update msg popped up. Could hear my car crash and burn in the background and the only option was to press ok for the game update! WTF?
 
Yeah, it's ridiculous, but it has been covered. Best thing to do is sign out if you're doing an endurance race, especially when you know an update is coming. GT5 is the only game I know that does this, and it's very, very annoying, but it hasn't actually happened to me yet... I'm just assuming it's annoying, really.
 
I unplugged my internet from my PS3 when I heard the update was coming. Didn't want to get kicked out of another 24H race again...
 
It doesn't abort it. The only thing you needed to do was press Circle so the game didn't force you to update, once you do that you'd be free to continue racing. I know, because it happened to me and that's what I did.

Exactly....some people don't know who to blame for their incompetence.
 
wow yo that sucks i was going to start a enduro but didnt for the same reason i just wanted to wait for the update

But still very inconvenient. Black screen and the game dont get paused.
