Hi

Anyone going Gamefest at the NEC in birmingham? I'm going tomorrow.

No unfortunatly, but I am going to the Eurogamer Expo at Earls Court next Friday.

I've heard that is going to be epic too. Just back from the gamefest event, played RAGE (Had to wait nearly 2hours!!), and a couple others.

The first game i went to was BF3, i was blown away, lucky i went there first or i would have had to wait for ages.

Might go to earls court but not too sure; all depends on whether work will give me another day off LOL.

I went on the Friday morning, the queues for everything were at least 2 hours. It was an absolute farce. The organisers knew what the big games would be, and they failed to plan for it. There was nowhere to queue, the booths were way too small and they let far too many people in.

It's fine if you like queueing or playing only indie games. But given how they advertised all of the big names you'd have thought they would have used common sense. Luckily I went with my girlfriend who enjoyed it and put up with me waiting for 20 mins to play NFS The Run! :)

Pretty good actually, especially given how much I disliked the last game. The demo was a 5 mile long race driving a Porsche 911 (GT3RS, possibly? I didn't see) through the desert. The aim was to overtake 10 cars and finish in a particular time. I ended up 5-6 seconds off the top 10 scoreboard on the stand but didn't get another go :(

The car felt a lot more 'weighted', especially at the back, and when I took it on a dirt track the back end was sliding about all over the place! It had a rewind feature too but it puts you miles back...

Oops sorry for the late reply; as soon as they let people in me and a couple mates just hopped straight to BF3, only a short wait. after that well let's just say waiting became ridiculous. I had to wait nearly 2 hours to play Rage!

They should have had more tham one booth for the big games, i understand there is limited space but well you have to be prepared. that said though i know i'll still end up going to the 2012 gamefest :sly:
