So I have a game stuck in my head right now, but I can't remember what it was called. Or when it was. Or even what platform it was on.

What I remember:
Date - Sometime probably between 1986 and 1992
Format - Either the Sinclair ZX Spectrum or Commodore Amiga; This means it will probably have been available on the C64 and CPC464 in the former or Atari ST in the latter.
Game - Circuit racing in motorcycle sidecars only, not as a bonus like Road Rash.

If anyone can fill in my brain hole, please do before I melt.

I also remember it had a course maker (which is part of the reason why I've recently remembered it).

The course maker was comprised of a series of 2x1 rectangular blocks which could be angled 30, 60 or 90 degrees either way and were green if level, progressively darker blue as they descended (blue was a mild syncline, dark blue a plummet) and progressively darker red as they ascended (magenta was a mild incline, scarlet a cliff face).

Why can I remember that as clear as day but not the sodding name?

Edit: Found it, by a miracle of strangeness. It was called "Combo Racer".

So with this from 1990 and Lotus 3: The Ultimate Challenge in 1992 with its "RECS" system of track creation, I wonder what the first game with a track creator/editor was if not one of these?

Mach Rider, which was a futuristic motorbike racing game released in 1985 as a launch title for the NES had a course design mode, however created tracks could only be saved onto a cassette via the Famicom Data Recorder peripheral, which was only available in Japan.

I don't know what one you're talking about, but Excitebike had a track creator in 1984.

Been there, I thought that game was trick back then, it doesnt' feel like 25+ yrs and were playing w/ what were playing with now. One of the coolest PC based games that had a track maker was "SODA," I just loved that game and they never made a sequil :(
