Gamestop pre-order and promotional codes that don't work.

Figure I'd post this because I forgot to activate my DLC pre-order codes when I bought the game.

I tried to activate the codes for the Mclaren F1 and Gamestop Nascar from my pre-order from GameStop and they didnt work. I called the local store and they gave me a number (800-883-8895 no option) to call to get new codes issued.

The customer service rep told me that PD shipped codes that were almost all invalid. Anyway got the new code and it worked.

My code I got on the 24th worked with no problems. Based on what I saw on this site, I would not say >50% of Gamestop's codes were invalid.
 
Same happened to me. I went back to the store and got a second code and it didn't work either. Will try calling. Thanks.
 
My code worked perfectly fine on the first try.
 
My code didn't work, so I e-mailed them (week of launch) and they have been nothing but useless.

Finally some one said they "sent my request to the premiums department for review" and that was the last time I heard from Gamestop customer support and the last time they replied to any emails; this was on December 2nd.

So, I will give that number a try, thanks for posting!
 
Got a code on the 23rd or 24th that half worked (only gave me one car), then another a few days later that gave me both cars.
 
I did not have any problems with mine nor did any of my friends.
 
I didn't have any problems with my codes. I used them when I got the game on the 24th.
 
Mine didn't work either but it came together with the Signature Edition so I already had this car anyway. Don't even know why I got this code, thought it was only for Collector's Edition and I don't need 2 of 1 car. :P

Meh, dont particularly care if the quote is wrong or not, the guy merely stated thats what happened. He said there were 700,000 phone calls on the release date received from people who pre-ordered and had invalid codes.
 
I got my new voucher code last night and it worked.

So, if your voucher code didn't work, definitely call that number. They will ask when you pre-ordered it, where, how much you put down, and for your e-mail address, then they'll e-mail the new voucher within 24 hours.

I have an extra set of Stealth cars but they're the Amazon cars: Logano's NASCAR Camry, McLaren F1 Stealth & SLS AMG Stealth. I'll gift them to someone in exchange for 2-3 cars remotely acceptable in trade.

You can't gift stealth cars or the logano NASCAR.
 
Is there a reason why I didn't receive my codes? I preordered it but never saw any codes.

Yell at the gamestop you picked your game up from. Either that or call the number that someone else posted in here.

My GameStop attendant caught herself right before i walked away and said "You might want your preorder car codes." That brought a big smile to my face. I couldn't believe how i nearly forgot due to all the excitement.
 
You think I would be able to get them? I hadn't thought of it at tue time and it's been a few weeks. I have my receipt. Any ideas?
 
For some reason GS sent me codes even though I canceled my pre order. Still haven't tried them but I'm expecting them to not work, as in only get the stock car and not the F1.
 
Called the number. Gave them some info off my preorder ticket along with an email address and was told to expect a new code in about 24-48 hours. When you call the number there are some options. Just hit 0 to get to a general rep.

The stock F1 is faster than the Stealth F1 anyway, so you'll be happy.
 
N00b here. Went to GameStop and picked up CE last night and on the sales receipt were 2 items: GT5 CE $99.99 and code $0.00. Farther down it gave a code for the "Car Package" Expires1/31/11. What car or cars should I get ? (it rang up as a pre-ordered game even though I didn't pre-order it)

Also are the codes for the 5 CE cars inside the package. It's a Christmas present so I can't open the box. Thanks

It's a code for 2 special cars only from GameStop that will give the person you are gifting it to a Joey Logano GameStop NASCAR and a Black Carbon Fiber McLaren F1.
