I was looking for this meet and i ended up in the ghetto (coral city). I was stopped at an intersection in the left turn only lane. So these three cadillacs make a right turn and then they made a quick U-Turn and proceeded going the direction I needed to go (which btw, the red light stayed red for about 3 minutes for me, and no traffic)

Are they flipping the U-Turn over a couple of double yellow lines? If a cop saw it, I imagine he wouldn't be too impressed.

I usually laugh at the people. Are you really in that such of a hurry to pull this crap? Besides, I used to work at a place that had one of these lights, and I made it a "legal" left turn like your talking about. Took a right, took a left into a parking lot, then took and then turned around in the vacant parking lot then went right out of the parking lot. By then, the light was red for me and I realized that it was just stupid BS.

Cops have an even fancier way. I saw a couple get off the highway and because they didn't want to wait for the green light, they flip on the lights, make the turn and then turn them off. The street wasn't busy, but still... Under the same reasoning, I think I should be able to go throw an intersection like that if its vacant, while I turn on my hazards, flip the high-beams on and off, and blare the horn.

I dunno if this has anything to do with traffic errors but I was driving and I saw this really really fineee ass girl
I knew from school and I almost ran a stop sign at a busy intersection cause I was thinking about her and forgot to stop:lol:

This is actually legal in Florida, but don't take my word as law. I do it, as long as it's safe to do so, and you've made all the stops/yields in the right places, I've never heard of this to be illegal.

If I know I'm going to get stuck behind two slowpokes in both lanes, and I've just missed the light, I'm late, and the cross-traffic is minimal, then sometimes I'll do this...but I'd imagine cops frown upon this (or at least, follow you closely for a few streets)!

On the other hand, RedEyeRacer has told me this is illegal in Michigan.

Carol City....blah.

I'm thinking that the only place this would be illegal is obviously any place where it is illegal to make the U-turn.

I find I have enough patience to wait out the red and make my normal left hand turn.

Of course, we've had this sudden "renassaince" of pointless NO TURN ON RED and NO U-Turn signs at intersections. They are making the 5-right, 8-left lefties a thing of the past.
