Garage vs Benchmark

So this is something that I find curious

When I look at my cars in the garage....
Car number 1:
SPEED 4.7
HANDLING 4.9

Benchmark:
0-60 8.11sec
0-100 20.3sec
Top speed 128mph
Lateral gs 8.89 / 8.8

Car number 2 (same car different tune)
SPEED 4.2
HANDLING 4.3

Benchmark
0-60 7.9sec
0-100 19.5sec
Top speed 137mph
Lateral gs 8.9 / 8.7

So do the numbers mean anything??
Why a car has lower garage numbers and has better benchmark numbers??

Without knowing what was actually installed its hard to say really. And also.. 8 lateral Gs? Jesus.

Ya Ya I know...it should be .8Gs. Ii I could only type...
8Gs would be too much even for NASA astronauts..ha ha

Let's use Nurburgring (full course) Lots of corners and long straights.

Given the parts difference, Not for me because I don't buy too many tunes on line. Just for comparison sake, I have. Now I think it would be confusing for someone who goes to the SF and looks at tunes for their car.
They check the specs and see:
Speed 4.4
Handling 5.0
and buy it for 20,000Cr let's say. (Fast and grippy???)

Only find out that another they purchased for 0Cr with:
Speed 3.0
Handling 4.3 outperforms it. It is faster and handles better...

My question wasn't tuning, more so do to do with the fact that the numbers do not reflect the true speed and handling...

Now people are going to say that tuning has a lot to do with it...yes I get that it does..

BUT !!! If a car is fast then the Speed number should be higher.
If the tuning is grippier then that number should be higher also.

Speed: 5.6 = faster
Speed: 3.0 = slower

Handling 6.0 = grippier
Handling 3.9 = looser

AND...in the hands of a competent driver!!!! yaddy yaddy ya..I'm talking about Joe Blow in the SF

What I always wish was implemented into the game was that if you go and tune, and lets say you tune the top speed down from what it originally was, or if you tuned the car and got a good amount of grip from it, i wish it was reflected into the stats. Kind of like what you are on about.

Exactly. It's an issue, I think, in the store front more than anywhere.
