This comes out tomorrow. :dopey:
My brother and my sister are coming over for the weekend to get some 4 player Gauntlet 2 action going with my girlfriend and I on the new 27" HDTV. Cant wait!!! :) 👍
I am going to try and link up multiple xbox but if the game doesnt allow it then we will do the 4player on 1 tv.

Will it be split screen in multiplayer? The original Gauntlet uses one screen only for all the 4 players.

Anyway, I hope this game to be good. I heard it was almost cancelled, then another team started to develop it and they totally changed the original concept.

oops I will correct that. I meant we will all be on the same screen like the other Gauntlet. 👍
All the trailers look great and even the game play looks great so far. I will know more tomorrow when I pick it up. I hope our character still builds levels like the last one.

Yeah, the main reason for me to get this game would be the multiplayer mode too. But my friends only care about Winning Eleven, they never want to play anything else. :grumpy:

I need nerdier friends.

THis one is going to be online so if you want to hook up with my girlfriend and I online some time let me know. Hopefully there is a co-op play online. That would be awesome. 👍

Sure, if you're getting the PS2 version. ;)
Nope sorry. When it comes to online games I always lean toward the Xbox. Mabey I could rent it some time for the PS2 and play with you for a night.

My girlfriend and I played this tonight for about 3 hours straight off line. We beat the 4th boss and our characters are at level 10.
After that I played online for about an hour with a different character and beat the 2nd boss and my character is level 4.
It is different than Gauntlet dark legacy in many ways. Some are good some are bad.
Each character now has about 17 moves that get unlocked as the game progresses which is very cool. Pretty much every single button does something in battle. Even the right analog stick kicks in any direction. The D-pad does powerful moves that you purchase with gold.
You have the ability to choose from beginner, normal, difficult, and impossible. Online the normal mode seemed too easy with 4 people so next time I will bump it up to at least difficult. However off line with it set at normal was decent to start with.
There are still chests, food, and death like in the other gauntlet. However now instead of using magic there is a new gauge called the mana gauge. That can refil and you will be using it all the time in further levels.
Overal my first impression is a good one. Some of the battles are awesome when you get closer to the level 3 and 4 characters.
The only bad thing about this game is I heard it is quite short. After 3 hours we already beat boss 4. Not sure how many there are total but I would assume 7 or 8.
I would say it is worth at good rental from my first impression. I woudnt recommend buying it yet until I find out how long it is and get a better impression of the full game. :)

GameSpot gave it a low review, five point something. But I think I'll still give it a try.

I can honestly say that so far I like the other one better (Dark Legacy). I forgot to mention that this one doesnt even allow you to free roam all the levels like the other one. In dark legacy you could go back and do the level over if you wanted. In this one you just progress thru the game. If you miss something your out of luck. In many ways I am disappointed but in some ways it is very fun. Yeah I would suggest you rent it first. Between the 2 games I would easily pick Dark Legacy over Seven Sorrows.
Oh yeah the cut scenes are absolutely terrible in seven sorrows so just click thru them each level after you buy your upgrades.

My girlfriend and I only have about 5 hours total into the game and now we are already on the seventh boss. Which I think is the last one. I am actually quite disappointed in how short this game is. Way way too short. :indiff:
Its really hard to believe it is even a gauntlet game.

My girlfriend and I finished Gauntlet 2 last night. Beat the 7th boss. Damn what a disappointment. We beat the entire game in about 5-6 hours including pause time. I give the over all game rating a 4.5. Could have been an awesome game if it was a heck of a lot longer. Oh well. I will beat it again tomorrow with my GF, sister, and brother then I will play the first Gauntlet with them. You could rent this game, beat it and return it all in the same day. Just sad.
