This is an old game but I still find myself picking it up once in a while and teaming up with friends or family to see how long it takes to get thru the game. I have had 4 people playing this at the same time and that is where the game is the best. You can use each other to do team mate moves. Anyway just wondering if anyone liked this game at one time or another? Did you ever play with multiple friends or family?
The single player is not that fun. You really must have friends to play this.
I have beat this game at least 7 times now but it is still very fun and I start a new game with friends, we usually cant stop until we get thru the entire game. I think if you are really good with a few friends you might be able to get thru the game in mabey 20-30hours.

Wow, I was just talking about this game in the Multiplayer Game´s thread, and saw this one. What a coincidence huh?!

You´re right, it´s a pretty fun game, but only in Multiplayer mode. My copy is gathering dust for a long time because I don´t have any friends interested on playing it. They only want to play Winning Eleven, nothing else.

My girlfriend and I pulled this one out again for the heck of it. Just cant believe how fun and addictive it is. This will be our 8th time going thru the game. I really wish they would make a Gauntlet 2.
We started last night and played for a few hours. Our guys are around level 17. Cant wait till level 25 so we can start turning junk into silver and start turning bad fruit into good fruit. :D

Heh, we used to play this for hours with two multitaps: me, my wife, and our two daughters (aged 11/12 and 8/9 at the time). The family that slays together stays together, I guess! We used to take turns being Pojo, too.
Back on the original PC Gauntlet my wife and I used to play together, too. That game had no ending and it would just continue to generate maps/levels forever. I think we finally got bored around game level 2100 when our stats were so high that we were pretty much impervious to damage.

Thats cool Duke! The entire family slaying together! :D
What is the deal with POJO?? I do anything I can to avoid that thing.
Also what is the other thing that sais "You are now it" whenever you play with multiple people if you touch each other?

Oh but they are! Haven´t you heard about it?

It will come out later this year, including online mode! If you search IGN you´ll find a video trailer of it. Although it looks a lot different from the original game, it seems pretty good.

I can´t see the link you gave here at work, but I´m pretty sure that´s the name. It´s for PC, PS2 and Xbox.

Pojo's awesome! A chicken that flies runs around and spits fireballs...! What more could you want?

The other thing is a certain powerup that makes somebody be IT and then you play tag until you exit the level. So any time you are IT and you run into somebody in your party, it makes them IT. I forget what the powerup looks like, though.

I just played Gauntlet Dark Legacy for the xbox over the weekend with my GF, sister, and brother and I cant believe how much better it is than the PS2 version. The most noticable difference is the graphics. WOW a lot better on xbox.
The other part that sets it apart is when you grab or buy items in the game. You are allowed to use them whenever you want instead of the PS2 version that forces you to use them right after you select the item. I will give a quick example.
If you walk over a hammer in the game in the PS2 version it forces you to use it right away. In the xbox version you can put it away and select it later whenever you want. This really came in handy for items like the "anti-death" for sucking deaths energy.
Conclusion. If you liked the PS2 version of this game then you will fall in love with the xbox version. 👍
