It was the first "comfortable mass-produced" monocoque all-wheel drive vehicle.
It's based on GAZ-M20 and it has a four-wheel drive system adapted from GAZ-69.

Great a car from the Soviet Union.
It doesn't have the looks but this one can easily been called the world's first SUV. :D

In 1955, the first "comfortable mass-produced" monocoque all-wheel drive vehicle appeared, the M72, with a four-wheel drive system adapted from the contemporary Soviet GAZ-69.
It was the brainchild of Vitaly Gracheva, assistant to the GAZ-69's chief engineer, Grigory Moiseevich.
It used a standard Pobeda transmission, mated to the GAZ-69 front axle, leaf spring suspension, and transfer case, with a brand-new rear axle (used on no other vehicle, a rarity for Soviet car production).
The body had fourteen panels added to strengthen the floor, frame, doors, and roof.
4.677 units were built between 1955-1958.

The Pobeda was also the Soviet automobile to have turn signals, two electric wipers, an electric heater, and a built-in AM radio.

The possibility that it's the first SUV is a reason why it should be in GT.

And look at the ride height, it's pretty high off the ground.
 
The Chevrolet/GMC Suburban predates this, as it's first generation is 1933-1934; and is considered the quintessential SUV. Having said that looks real rugged and dependable.
