Just like to say a big Gday to all, Just recently got my hands on GT4 and loving every second of it.

Just have a question id like to ask, ive did a search and read the FAQ, but cant find an answer. The thing is, with my second hand car, the first car i bought which is the Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M'89, done over 95800 km, Ive Done it up a bit now so i dont know the original kW but in the list view in the garage it says 262kW, but when i go into the valuation screen it says 193kW. Which is the correct reading?

193kw is the correct reading, 262kw I think is actually hp, a little mistake on Polyphonys' behalf maybe? 👍
 
You've done over 95,000KM obviously your going to lose some power?
 
when u sell the car, u dont get the value of the mods.... so the valuation screen value is prob the power without the mods?
 
Yeah, there's a difference between the power readings for some reason. PD made a mistake I guess, but it's not too much of a big deal.

That does not happen in real life, and it shouldn't happen in the game. If you have treated the engine well there is no loss of power, not at least at 95,000km

In fact if you measure a used engine (in mint conditions) it will have gain an extra hp or two, sometimes three.
 
I think it's the difference between power measured at the crank and at the wheels. I could be wrong and it could be an error in calculation on their part. I think they measured originally in PS then calculate everything else, maybe that's it?
 
that sucks that the mods dont add to value. like u could spend up 100000 on a car and mods and only get 10000 back if ur lucky

nope im pretty sure it's not wrong.

The one at the valuation screen is the power at the WHEELS where as the list view shows the power at the FLYWHEEL.

e.g. my real life car is 187kw, but 152.3kw at the wheels.
