Gearing and the Power Band

Hey all,

Anybody got any ideas on how to maximize engine performance based on using the power band on the upper right hand side of the settings screen? Also, what should I be aiming for? I've gotten lucky thus far, that most of what I've attempted has come out fairly well, but I'm still kind of blind as to what I'm looking for or how to go about getting it. Any help is appreciated. If you do a search for "powerband" in the tuning and settings forum, lots of helpful threads pop up.

They may not specifically address your issue, but in dealing with someone else's, will likely answer your question.

However, going by feel isn't a bad idea. The car will tell you what you need to know while it's on the track. The key is to experiment patiently, and make note of what happens.

Well thanks for getting back to me. I tried the search, but what I'm realy after is somebody to make guide (bout as subtle as a fart in an elevator). Hint, hint, :) I'll try more searches, but from what I saw, nothing REALY helpped me out that much, either that or I already knew what was being talked about. But thanks any how... :)

P.S. You sure you did "powerband" as your search. As well as "power band". All that comes up is this thread. I've also tried "gearing", and "gears"... also not much help.

P.P.S. We're in the tuning forums. :dopey:

Also tried horsepower (this thread), horse power ("), maximize ("), HP (too short). Unless I'm missing something, there realy isn't a whole lot out there. Come on RK, where you hidding. I'm sure you got some imput for this thread... I'm tapped.

Ok CS, I went looking, and found some stuff on the GT2 tunings settings board. Go there and search "powerband" and read what comes up.

The thread by Talentless requires you go to another board, register there, activate your account, log in (and choose to stay logged in) then reclick the link in GTPlanet and then FINALLY you can see a write up about tuning your gears.

I hope the other threads are helpful too, but looking around in GT2 and GT3 couldn't hurt, since the basic principals wouldn't have changed.
