Has anyone else noticed that the gearshift animations in replays are still out of sync? I remember there being a bit of concern after seeing it in early builds but it doesn't seem as though it has been fixed.

It's not really that big an issue because the only time you really see it is in replays but it could have been a really cool feature if they got it right. Also they don't seem to have addressed the lack of bumps and vibrations in the cockpit, the driver looks like he's going for a sunday drive down the autobahn

Anyway just thought I would check if everyone else had noticed the same thing or if my eyes were playing tricks on me, because I find it amazing that they would spend so much time on a feature only to overlook such an important aspect

TBQH, this is definitely an unfinished/rushed game. There are lots of things left untouched.

Yeah, they're out of sync. This seems to be a pretty common problem in racing games though, if you think about it, the game would have to know when you are going to press the button to get the animation started, otherwise it's always going to be triggered after you've done your gear change.

I will agree though, the animation is probably much slower than a racing driver would do it.

He is talking about in replays. In replays the game does know when you will push the button because you already did while you were racing.

A replay is just a recording of a race or lap, correct? So if it out of synch in the game, wouldn't it make sense that the replay would be out of synch as well, seeing as it is just recording?

Shifting animations out of sync?!! Have you seen the shifting animation in cars with shift paddles? The hands go crazy the whole race. the guy does´nt know if to have his hands on the left or right paddle, and sometimes in cars with paddles fixed to the column like the GTR, he puts his hands on both paddles for a like a second. The shifting animations on stick shifters are a little bit out of sync, but at least they are constant.

Well replays are a save file of all the inputs the player (and maybe the AI cars) make so the race can be recreated... however during replays it wouldn't be too hard to have the game look ahead 1 second in the replay file for a gear shift so it could accurately portray it...

Actually, I feel like that would be a lot harder than you think.

I noticed the same thing while watching one of my B-Spec drivers.
