Gentlemen's Agreement Series

Round 5: Côte d'Azur (7 laps)

Deadline: 29 July 2007 @ 23:59 GMT

Since this is the final round, you have an extended deadline, with two weekends to do your best at Monaco.


Please, read the rules carefully and look at the points table to see the weight penalties you carry for Round 5.

Car Settings
  • Power: +20%
  • Weight: refer to points and penalties board below
  • Tires: Sports
  • TCS: ON or OFF
  • ASM: OFF

Rules

  • Standard Online Racing Rules apply.
  • No Cheating, Hybrids, or anything similar.
  • Run the car according to the mentioned settings (power and weight).
  • Try and keep two wheels on the road at all times. No shortcuts.
  • No wall-riding. It slows you down.
  • A driver has up to 3 hours after deadline to send in their time, but a penalty will be enforced equal to the lateness of the submission, 1 second for every minute after deadline up to 3hr past deadline. Anything after 3hr will not be accepted and will post a DNF.

Côte d'Azur :: Race Settings

  • 7 Laps Race (Arcade Mode/Single Race);
  • You can select this tire compounds: S1, S2 or S3 (any combo also allowed);
  • AI will start with same tire compound as you;
  • Set AI difficulty as low or high as you wish;
  • Set tire wear to STRONG;
  • Set penalty to SPEED LIMITER;
  • You can discuss lap 7 time like this: 1'11.111;
  • Send me a private message with your total time and all (7) lap times.

Round 5 Results

Well, this round was a disaster... Only 3 times submitted :crazy:
Anyway, congratulations to the podium places and to all the winners in the 3 groups. Hope you enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed running it. Maybe I'll be back with something a bit more interesting. :)

Okay, let's do it. Final round so I better bring in the best of me.

My first try..Lap 7: 1'40.9* if i am not mistaken...
 
I guess I've run this track 1-2 times since I have GT4 and it was with an Honda S800 :p
 
Results are up. With was a bit disappointing that just 3 drivers submitted their times, but I know RL sometimes gets in the way.

Jose, thanks for the series. I enjoyed it and will race in the next. Where do you think it should be?
 
I liked the series, pretty short, which makes it easier for some. Next time though, you should think about changing. the origin of the cars based on the car class (example, G1 runs Italian cars, G2 runs British cars, G3 runs Japanese cars).
 
pretty interesting idea. i don't know if that would change the nature of the series though. I kind of like the notion of going through one manufacturer and having the cars get more sophisticated as we move up the category. I liked the idea of having the vintage versus the nouveau also.
 
If I decide to organize another race series, one thing will definitely be different: the tracks. I'd go for original/world circuits since they're usually interesting.

I'm a bit undecided about the cars though...

Racing cars: DTM's, JGTC's??? What else??? I don't really like very powerful cars and there's already some series covering that area.

Do you guys think it would be possible to organise a series with Japanese vs European cars? Or maybe American vs European cars?

In the case of 2 different groups, do you think FWD and RWD would be interesting enough??? Maybe with HP limits???

Well, for now that's it. I haven't been able to test cars or play GT4 lately, but I'll get into it in a few days. :)

DTM's my bag, so don't do that, there's already a JGTC series, so don't do that.

I do like the idea Japanese vs. European cars, you should do something similar to the 3 groups of cars like you did in the Gentleman's Agreement Series, good luck with following up with this. 👍
 
I thnk maybe a small bore series would be fun. maybe a class that is under 1 liter and one up to 2 liters. We could run the Driving park Circuits, and the Mini/clubman versions of Special Stage 5, Apricot Hill, Grand valley etc. Of course nothing says we couldn't just run the full circuits as well.

Small bore racing puts the emphasis on the precision of the driver and the racing is somewhat garanteed to be very close. Also the REWARDS weight really means something if you only have 100 HP or so to haul your arse around the track. Just my humble opinion, freely given and yours for the adoption....
 
I really enjoyed this series and I am happy i clinched top spot in standings :sly: Yay. You can probably count with me in second series.
