cctrhongkongta2.gif

Deadline: 10 July 2007 @ 23:59 GMT

Please, read the rules carefully and look at the points table to see the weight penalties you carry for Round 3. I really can't be more explicit than this.

Car Settings
  • Power: +20%
  • Weight: refer to points and penalties board below
  • Tires: Sports
  • TCS: ON or OFF
  • ASM: OFF

Rules

  • Standard Online Racing Rules apply.
  • No Cheating, Hybrids, or anything similar.
  • Run the car according to the mentioned settings (power and weight).
  • Try and keep two wheels on the road at all times. No shortcuts.
  • No wall-riding. It slows you down.

Hong Kong :: Race Settings

  • 7 Laps Race (Arcade Mode/Single Race);
  • You can select this tire compounds: S1, S2 or S3 (any combo also allowed);
  • AI will start with same tire compound as you;
  • Set AI difficulty as low or high as you wish. I prefer a bit of a challenge :) but that's just me!!!;
  • Set tire wear to STRONG;
  • Set penalty to SPEED LIMITER;
  • You can discuss lap 1 time like this: 1'11.111;
  • Send me a private message with your total time and all (7) lap times.

well I gave it an early mornig try and I am not so sure that I like this course. It is very technical and carrying speed through the sections is muy tough. My G3 overall time was about 1 minute faster than my G1 time.

agreed daddy-o ... this a very technical venue :scared: and I'll be in trouble not having the "usual" racecar acceleration :) ... for me, it's the charm of this series !!

i guess this course isnt very popular, i cant get joy driving it too :-/..technical indeed. Oh well..i did one run yesterday and i have enough. I will see if i want to improve that time or i am confident with it.

heres the time from Lap 1: 1'36.563 ^_^

One of my better tracks, I hope to improve my place in the points with a good result this time.

i am struggling with my braking points. just cant seem to get a decent line round the corners. allways run wide. anyways hope fully i get a decent time.

The last section--the left-right-left onto the start/finish straight--I try to carry as much speed through there as possible and throttle steer to make the transitions. Those of you that are drifters know exactly what I mean. I have trouble finding the braking points at the top of the course, I suppose Turn 7. I usually over cook that one and either slide through or back through. Traction is bad there also. I took 8 seconds off of my 2oo2 tubo time this morning.

My poor SL 65... The braking when using S3s is horrid, and this thing has a LOT of power. That means high speeds. It'd KILL on a big track, but I just can't drive it here... Oh well, I'm stuck with it!

I am gonna drive some more later this day, can't really think of which sectors i can improve, but we'll see...i will run some testing laps before it.

ATTENTION: the points table has been changed, since I included RACECAR's time. This only affects the Group 3 drivers, so take a look at the weight penalties you carry for Round 3: Hong Kong.

I'm really sorry if someone has to race again, but situations like this will be handled in the next rounds, since all times submitted after deadline will be penalized.

I think I'm going to have to back out. Life is getting hectic, and I haven't been able to do much on this. Not to mention another challenge series that I'm in.

Sorry. I couldn't even make a clean lap, so it's not like y'all lost the best driver around. See ya around guys.

woo, 3 players with 10 points:p theres gonna be battle between them :sly: oh, and i will pm you times in a few minutes 👍

This could take a while. its so hard to get around here.

well i can't wait too see your times and compare :) i did only one full run for this round have to say :P so i will see if i underrated it or was it again enough to get me on the top spot.

i found this track ok. but you have to get in to a rythem. before i actually started doing the races i done some peactice on time trail mode to learn more about the track. i think it helps a lot. at first i was really struggling judging breaking points but now im ok apart from the corner just before the last section to the finish i hate that one!

exactly...i always do few practice laps in time trial to get into it :), and when i feel confident i take my BMW on the race

I've had problems braking for turn 9 in all my races!!! It's a weird turn!!! I found it necessary to break before the red warning light starts to blink, otherwise you'll meet the barriers!!! :crazy:

Anyway, first laps:

BMW 120: 1'48.472
BMW 330i: 1'42.859

ah yea i agree with the turn 9....the red warning is useless..you always have to break earlier or later than it blinks. ;)

and your M3 CSL time? :sly:

I didn't post my M3 CSL time, because I received a penalty on my last lap and I'll try to race it again!!! 👍

I'm still missing a lot of results...

G1: SERGE
G2: SERGE, Jetboys, gz, TS
G3: SERGE, Jetboys, Fangio, gz

I know Jetboys might be out definitely, but no one else said anything about quitting from this series :(
