i thought i'd check out the GT5P entry in wikipedia and I found this!

"The improvements in downloads speeds feature has not been implemented with the update because the required PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 System Software update has not yet been released.[27] The full list of additions and improvements is as follows:"

Seriously Xbox 360 system software update < WTF are they on about, Which fool wrote that.

Wikipedia is at best a rough database of general knowledge which should always be read keeping in mind it might not be un-biased or factually correct. Fun to look at for reading about random things, but is otherwise useless.
There is a reason that almost all academic establishments do not accept source references from it.

Well...at least it had a use in that it caused the creation a far superior site:

If some of you gets worried now, I can say I'm 99,9999% sure GT5 will never ever be released on Xbox 360. Simply because it doesn't has enough power, and KY/PD would never let Sony down like that.

Maybe not in the foreseeable future, but never say never and money talks.

extremly doubtful.

Polyphony Digital Inc. is a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., and is a software developer entity

thats the first line from PD website. sony owns PD so its not like M$ can just pay PD alot of money to build for both systems like the did with FF13, seeing as PD answers to Sony and Sony only. plus the fact that Kaz is on the board of sony. the only way M$ could ever get GT on 360 would be to actully buy Sony

+1, Wiki could have been written by me, you, anybody, but I wouldn't bother.:p

Wiki for the most part is correct, but because it can be edited by anyone and it can't always be policed errors and misleading edits do occur. I remember hearing how some people on wikipedia are listed as dead when they are actually still alive!

In fact Wiki marked me as a dead beet! :guilty:

Wiki is an 'everymans' encyclopaedia, a great and easy reference to use, but often vague, incomplete and without solid source references. Some people do quote Wiki as god and these Wiki-lovers make me laugh.

You could imaging the ruckus over at XBOX forums:

"Wiki proclaims GT5 to be released on XBOX!!!!!!"

;)

 Of course, on some things it is right, but you can't fully trust it.

Genuine as I i didn't just make it up, it really is on the page. I don't believe wikipedia on anything anyways and that just proved it to me.

I know what you mean, don't worry about it.;)

I checked the prologue page and it seems the fool removed the xbox reference.

The Xbox reference was probably added by an Xbox fanboy trying to freak out some Sony fanboys.

It was added by a moron trying to be funny. If you're not sure about those lines with source links at the end, click the source, and read it. It will reveal whether or not the person has correctly passed off the information.

I'll trust wikipedia most of the time on certain subjects (such as animals, buildings, scientific research & chemicals;etc.) mainly because the average moron can be spotted easily. But for games and the likes, the lines with sources are always the ones you can trust the most.

I remeber one xbox HALO3 fanboy wrote that HALO3 sold over 500,000 million units making it #1 game ever sold.. BUAHAHAH!!!:dopey:

Not always, even sources can be based on rumours or even opinion. If you really want to be 100% sure, you should just listen to the developers, or just ask and read here ;)
I mean, if the source was a freewebs or angelfire site, would you still trust it? Of course not!

Good point. I should have noted in my first post that you should check the source as well. :indiff:

This whole thread was mainly started for people to laugh at the fool but know its kinda moved into a big debate about wikipedia... Argh what have i created here!

Wikipedia is as reliable as I am, don't trust it.

No offense, but you really need to re-think your joke-starting strategy. You came across as some newbie who had just read wikipedia and gone "omg this isn't true, how dumb!" and decided to apraise us with this.
It regularly happens on many forums, so it's not particularly funny, just very  in the sense of "here we go again, explaining why wikipedia is generally useless".

Robin

Was one of those people Mick Hucknall of the band Simply Red by any chance...?

Also, GT will never be on Xbox because as many have said PD is owned by Sony, there's as much chance of it as there is a chance of there ever being a Ferrari 911 Superleggera.

It was more to laugh the ignorance of people that post on wikipedia, for example I editing a few minor details about the school which attend in the UK for the past 5 YEARS but it got reversed because a moderator in America claimed it wasn't true yet he has never even heard of my school or even been to the UK!!!! Argh thats what makes me ad and it kinda applys to the XBOX thing i brought up.

EDIT: Anyway this has been fixed now so mabye we should just let this thread RIP.

Well I can agree about the stupidity of the people that moderate wikipedia, but in any case, this topic really deserves to be in a more relevant sub-forum now, or just closed.
