Hi there, like many i guess first post with a question! I searched but didn't have any joy.

Basically i can't compete in the German car race in the european hall. Do i need one of those specific cars listed or is there just a bug in my game? i've tried all the german cars i have, BMW M Coupe, Audi Nuvolari even the RUF Yellowbird but it turns them all down saying the race is for "german cars only"

i'm loathe to go and buy a 330ci only to find it isn german enough!

do i just have to accept i won't get 100% or am i being a nugget about something?

cheers,

m.

Which German championship? One is for more powerful cars, the other for less, and then there is the DTM.
Slightly off topic, but why cant I race my Vauxhaull Astra in the DTM when I can race the Opel one when they are almost exactly the same. It cant be cos its not German cos niether is Alfa Romeo. Stupid PD

just manufactuered in germany...if you buy the car from germany, you wont have a problem. I think one of the only 'german' cars you can't take is the HPA r32

You're not being a nugget, probably...

It's PD for not explaining the rules properly and bugs in the game.

I remember reading that the Coupe isn't allowed in due to a bug, even tho' it probably should be. Your Audi isn't allowed as it's not a production car, and your Ruf will be too powerful. The 330Ci will be allowed in, as will other german production cars roundabout the same power as the 300Ci.

Because a Vauxhall Astra never raced in DTM, only Opel Astras. The Alfa however, did race in DTM.

Right you are.

As for the thread starter:

For the race called "Schwarzwald A" you have to use a german car with between 200 and 300 hp. for the Schwarzwald B you have to use a german car with between 300 and 400 hp.

For the DTM-race you have to use a DTM-racecar. Audi A4 Racecar, Audi TT Racecar, Mercedes Benz 190E Evo2, Alfa Romeo 156 16v Ti or Opel Astra Racecar for example.

Ah!! thanks all (Dann and Dr AK in particular)

it's the two races in the euro hall. just did the french one no problem in a clio but for the life of me i can't get in this german one.

i'm only 28% in so not a massive bank balance as yet and i didn't want to end up with a lemon of a car! at the same time i didn't want to have to start over if the game had gone funny on set up! :dunce:

Your right, but I'm still annoyed that PD put cars in the game like the 320i TOURING CAR, the MazdaSpeed6 TOURING CAR, just to name a few. These are both "TOURING CAR"s but won't race in the "TOURING CAR" race. I know GT4 isn't perfect, don't expect it to be, but I sure would like to race my BMW and Mazda in some sort of competetive race.

For my 320i, I've found that I can use it on the Hard level rally races that take place on asphalt, with just on turbo upgrade. Likewise, the 320i is a good car to win the 24h or Nurburgring ( that is, if you want to race it all in A-spec ). As for the MazdaSpeed6, I haven't really found a race in which I feel like I'm with like cars, with similar performance. Its a real shame, since these 2 cars are in my top 20 list, of my favs in GT4. Hopefully in GT5, PD will give us the freedom to setup our own races, so that we chose our competition, length of race, etc. That would be more important to me than even online racing support.

You may want to try the "Professional Hall" Dream Car Championship. The 320 and Speed 6 should provide "close" racing against the S2000, Mitsu FTO, and Subaru WRX race cars.

Well I had to buy a Opel Speedster for the Opel one-race anyway, and I had to tune it to heck to do that race. I just used that car in the SCHWAZWALK LIGA A race.

As for the SCHWAZWALK LIGA B I used a Mercedes SL65. I also used the SL65 to beat the One-race Silver Arrow, One-race SL challenge, and the Professional event Race of Turbo Sports. One car 4 races, nice...

Yeah, but the SL65 ain't cheap. I think I did many of the races you mentioned with The '98 Mercedes SL500. Yeah, I had to spend money to make it right (50,000 cr. just for the chassis refresh), but its the lightest MB SL in the game, and IMO the best looking.

Lol. They would provide "close" racing until you run into the Zonda or the GT40 LM race cars! :ouch:

Edit: Oops. My bad lol. I just got out of a dream car car championship race. It was worth 197 PTS vs the GT40 LM race car, and i was using the GT300 Weds Sport Celica. i won by 3.XXX seconds.

So in conclusion, it wouold provide extreemly close racing. :sly:

i was ridiculously angry when i found out i couldnt use either of the two touring cars i would have liked to use most...the calibra and the 320i. and when i entered with a mercedes...why the hell do i see an alfa romeo touring car.

pd did some stupid things with that damn championship. :yuck:
