One of my favorite seasonals to do on a regular basis is the GTC eiger nordwand track just to take a break from other races that I'm doing.

When I logged onto it a few minutes ago, however, it's like PD bugged the game. Everything on my box was moving at like triple speed.

Anyone else experiencing this?

GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!
Now seriously, triple the speed is great!

It would be great in B-spec, like the good ol' days:)

But I have not heard of this anywhere else, what happened when you started the race? Was it just the pre race screen or the race itself?

It was the race itself. For some reason it's like you're looking at a touring car and racing a 900 HP race car. The engine noises are even different. It doesn't sound like an Audi A4 at all.

Eiger Nordwand short track is hard enough without the race moving at almost triple speed, I tried it a few times and could only place 3rd highest. Very weird.

I would take advantage, sounds like the payouts will be the best for the time it takes. What are your lap times?

Well what I just discovered is that the GAME is running at triple speed for some reason. The clock is running at triple speed, the cars are driving at triple speed... it's really weird. I think I might have to clear some cache files or maybe delete my game data and reinstall.

Sounds like someone's edited a copy of Windows Movie Maker into your game and the game has edited itself to triple speed. Would be great to see some racing at Superspeedway Daytona like that though

It would be cool if my reaction time was that good, but It's not. I'd like the game to slow back down now pls!

Benny Hill theme.

Now I just wish I could get my game back to normal. I googled the problem and I seem to be the only person having it. I just deleted the online data cache and that didn't help, and now I'm deleting the installed files and restarting the game.

*crossing fingers*

Strange, I would be tempted to jump in the 458 and spend a few hours at La Sarthe before trying to correct it:)
Seriously though, it probably isn't doing your console any good, so try the re-install, and delete cache thing. Good luck.

Dont restart the game, just un-install then re-install. You shouldn't need to lose your save data.
You don't have to install at all if you don't want to, it has been recently reported that GT5 runs beter without the install.

Why would restarting the game dump my saved data? Are consoles this idiotic that they don't save your saved game files in a different location like PC's have been doing for a friggin decade now?

Problem solved. Seems that the game data was corrupted at some point. Probably because I turned the PS3 off at the seasonal event track selection screen at some point last night instead of backing out to the GT Mode screen first.

Lesson learned.

Whew. I'm glad that worked out! Do let us know if it happens to you again, though, because I would seriously love to try it :)
