I hated this series! I did it last night as I wanted to win the vw cup car... never have I been so jostled, smacked, bumped, wedged against walls, turned around from behind.. etc.. The AI cars in these races are tenacious little suckers and never get far behind. I won the series but had to sit a while for my blood pressure to go back to normal.. :odd:

SIDEBAR: I was going for the vw, but won the astra touring car my first time so I had to keep it. Now I have to do the series AGAIN!

Bill! Do a search for "save and reload". There's a trick you can use to make it easier to get the car you want. In short, if you have a big enough points lead, you can quit out of the last race repeatedly until you get the car you want. It may take multiple tries but you keep reloading your saved game until you get it.

I did S & RL to get my camaro race car.. but got the Gilett the first time (both times I did it.. once for the car and once for the money). I just decided that I would keep the astra instead of trying again for the vw.

well why dont you give the astra a little tweak and enter that in the German Cup, it will kill the comp and help your blood pressure then do the save reload to get the beetle..

I did that this morning.. got a tweak off gtvault from fumes..(always good tweaks thus far) and I won a couple of them as single races.. but still have trouble with laguna seca.. the one I didn't win in the series race. Must... keep... trying... I'm working on some of the sharper cornering areas and trying not to push too much speed into them while in a crowd. Going into the dirt one time pretty much hoses me in this race.

thats a 5 race series right? well as long as you win 3 of the 5 you should be okay and as long as you dont let the same car get second spot more than once...check the points carefully and you can manipulate the finishing positions of some of the cars...bump here bump there...no one is watching except you....so who cares?

actually i dont know if it will work like that...my brain is frazzled and i cant be arsed doing the maths right now...

I will do the math for you.
If you skip at the end of race three in a 5 race series you need to be 21 points ahead of 2nd place if you do not wish to start the last 2 races. For you to win the series 2nd place would only have to be on 9 points. Not possible if you skip both races.

However if you start both the last 2 races and exit when you are in first place you only have to be 13 points ahead at the end of the last race. The AI will only be credited with 6 points if you quit when in first place.
You finish first on 30, second place would be 29 or less. So at end of race three second place must only be on 17 points. So you would also have to ensure that the second place car comes second twice and third once in the first three races. 6 +6+4=16 +6+6 = 28, you win on 30.

Uncle Harry, that'll only work provided that 2nd place didn't get the silver for all 5 races like Turbo Smoke said. I did a 5 series race like that and had to make sure in the 4th race that I was not racing that the 2nd place car didn't get 2nd place. It was at Cote d'Azur, I'd either bump him and slow him down or drive ahead and wait until it told me that the car behind me was not him. Far easier to just do 4 of 5, but you only need 3 golds of those 4, the 4th race you can finish even last place. That'll give you 31 points and an automatic win even if you quit the last race

I agree with you SnowbordrWRX, It is easier to do the 4 races. I was just pointing out the maths for Turbosmoke to show it is possible. I also did say that number 2 had to finish 3rd or lower at least once. In this series the AI usually mix up results fairly evenly so it can be done.

Uncle Harry, when I first read your post I guess I missed what you said. It was a lot of words haha
