I've already planned on seeing it since I saw the previews last year. Looks to be one of the funniest films of '08.

It's the only part of the "pre-movie crap" that I enjoyed and was happy to hear about since I went to the movies this past week.

I'm not so sure.

Get Smart is a classic, and if the jokes in this movie are all new-age and different to the series, I'm not sure how I'll like it. From what I can see on the trailer the jokes aren't like the series. :S

It might turn out to be a funny movie, but I'm not sure how it'll go as a tribute to Get Smart. The proof will be in the watching I guess.

I don't know about you but I don't think I was really old enough to see the tv series and well I'm not sure I'd watch this movie if it was humor from that show.

From the preview I assumed it was Carrel's take on the show, so it's his humor that is the relation to the show.

The original Get Smart was one of the best shows ever...I already can imagine this remake movie being a complete farce. Steve Carell hasn't been funny since he was the news anchor dude in Bruce Almighty. The Office is not funny at all--oddly in either BBC or NBC rendition.

Also, I wanted to add to my original post that from the preview in this thread it seems almost Austin Powers like. Austin Powers is great. A rip-off of, not so great.

BBC's The Office: 👍
NBC's The Office: 👎

Plus, it's got Anne Hathaway in it and I like her, half because she's hot and half because she reminds me of both my grandmas she 5'8" (Just like my grandma on my mom's side) and she's from Brooklyn (just like my grandma on my dad's side)

Oh, I take that back. I didn't see the movie preview youtube video until just now. If its as funny as that preview it might just be awsome. Oh, and I'm a huge fan of The Rock.
