Is there any way to get a NASCAR without that Jeff Gordon bloke? Just that I'm stuck on getting all golds on his challenge and, to be honest, I can't stand him any more!

I sit there doing the challenges finding myself wishing there was a practice your inside line by hitting Jeff Gordon whilst he stands on the apex challenge! :P

I also need a car for the DTM on Extreme?

Do I just get these cars on B-Spec?

Buy either car from the new, Premium Dealerships. NASCAR from Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota. The DTM from Lexus. I'm too lazy to quote prices for you. Good luck!

👍

I'm sure I just checked those and didn't even see those cars! :P I shall have to go and have another look then! With you saying new dealers I shall see if I've missed an update before I log on.

Don't worry about prices, I have 2.4 mil saved up so I should have plenty hopefully, thanks for that! You have no idea how grateful I am that I can now skip having to deal with that bl**dy Jeff Gordon =D

Oh right, yeh I remember looking at those cars when I first looked when I got the game ... Thank you for pointing that back out to me, how it didn't register that you could buy them I don't have a clue :P

Thanks again lol!

Don't have to buy Nascar race car.

You will win this (i've got toyota nascar) in Jeff Gordon special challenge !

My B-Spec Bob won race in it as well.

Jeff Gordon's challenge isn't that bad considering the credits and XP you win, plus you get a free Nascar. If you use ASM turn it off because it improves your cornering speed.

+1 "Did you forget to reverse back over my twitching corpse?"

oh i find him so frustrating! i got stuck on that challenge where you have to stay between the wall and the cones at Daytona, I literally was one thousandth of a second away and I got the same time twice which really annoyed me! So I just thought sod it, I'll go buy a NASCAR and have done with, I won the overall event but I quit the last race in Daytona as I got spun out ... and then got spun out again, I just have no pace in the corners even with everything switched on :S

Also won the DTC with the Lexus, that is complete now, as is the American Championship after that one, just letting Bob race now trying to build some more XP so he can do the last two races of expert.

Now onto the new pet hate, thise cars I have just received, the car tank thing and some small crappy car that I got for winning two extreme events ... what!? ... how the hell can I get better cars than that in amateur? How do I use a car tank really?

That's the reason for you having no pace in the corners, in all the Nascar events make sure every assist is off as they just slow you down.

The NASCAR school events are very easy to get gold on with all assists turned off. I was able to get gold first try on most of them and I am no expert. Don't waste your money.

Sorry lol! I had everything switched off :P Got that way wrong lol! Yes, I had no pace in the corners even with everything switched off :S

Does the ABS act like stability control in the nascar race series.

I have a DFGT so was able to turn the stability control off but figured that ABS would only affect me if I used the brakes which I wasnt planning on doing so didnt give it another thought.

I tested this a while ago. The basic setting is like 5 traction control and 1 ABS, right? I tested in American Championship Indy. Neither TC nor abs should play any role running there in 6th gear all the time. Well, it does. My perception is, the more 'helpers' you have switched on, the more 'power' you loose. Switch 'em off in Indy/Dayatona, even if you need em everywhere else (like me 'cause I'm noob with a DS3).

Yes and no.

The thing is that the ASM is locked ON and it slows you down. You have 2 choices to deal with this. The easy way is to just turn off the ABS and for some reason this causes the ASM to have no effect during the race.

The other thing you could do instead is use the in race controls to turn off the ASM while you are driving. A bit harder to do but also will serve the same purpose.

Once you have the ASM effectively disabled and use the proper line and drafting methods the events are easy to gold all the way through from beginner to expert. I actually thought the hardest one was the outside line at Indy with the cones.
