Getting above B rank

Hi

yes yes, i know this is a stupid question.

BUT...on single player mode, on any track, the first rank is D
I win that, and that unlocks rank C
I win that, and that unlocks rank B
But no matter how many times I win rank B, it doesn't unlock rank A

Do I need to do it with a certain car or what?

Not sure if it matters, but i've got all the licenses except the overtaking ones

Dont know what you're doing wrong, but when I win 1st place on rank B, it'll unlock A, then S.
 
In another thread it was mentioned that you had to win 2 times to get to A and 3 times to get to S.

I also do not have all licences yet. I do not think it has anything to do with that.
 
Usually I have to win 2 times on B to get A, and 2 times on A to get S...
 
And using the same car all the way through a track's rankings helps.

Really? I had Laguna Seca on B, but last night I did 3 or 4 races in a row, all with different cars and got it to S.
 
Lap count and/or total winnings on that track may also play a part. Just keep racing (and winning) and you'll get there.
 
I've been doing 2 lap races, and I've noticed that it's like MarcoM said, 1 win to get C, 1 win to get B, then 2 wins to get A, then 3 wins to get S.
 
Hmm happened to me too Probably You did unlock it but Its set On rank B Sry if Its a Dumb answer
