Getting Annoyed Now :(

Am currently stuck on online A-Spec challenge No.4 650pp 1 lap around nurburgring and the reason I am annoyed is because I picked the chaparral j2 and I got beat by a zonda race-car so I pick my Toyota Gt1 car which goes over 300mph and still I could not catch up on the straight and got beat by a ford gt40 spec 2 so I then pick the ford gt40 LM spec 2 test car and got beat again by the zonda race-car and it's not like a am bad at this course because I'm not I have race on it many a time on previous games but still somehow I just ain't good enough to beat the cheating AI on this race ??? And would be grateful if anyone has any ideas how I can win please :(

This challenge is very easy... I have a Zonda R nurb tuned up for share if you want to add me.

This car will do a 6 minute dead lap in the challenge, ive done it about 300+ times.

I also have a bunch of cars that will win this race that I can put online if you want to add me as well BoDaddy12 although I am doing the 4 hour nurb endurance race right now(well my son is for a bit) and will probably have to suspend it for the night, but as soon as we are done I will add some cars online. I have a few on now with maybe the GT1 and a broken in 2J but I have plenty more I will try to put on tomorrow. Good luck
 
Use the BMW McLaren GTR race car. Its an easy win with it.
 
Keep on reopening the start grid till u dont have a zonda, mcclaren or toyota as 1st car. I have won with a 550 gallardo with like 6:50's. If i remember i had a falcon or corvette as 1st car on grid.
 
Fun fact about the Nordschleife:

If you have run it many times and are not bad at it... you need to run it many more times to become more not bad at it. ;)



Have patience and keep practicing and looking for ways to improve. Give it a break when frustrated and come back a while later for more. It's usually not the car's fault. If you really need to just get a win and get this particular event out of the way, do what nowayback said.
 
Until you get the hang of the track, here's a tip that will help you get started:

Slow down just enough on each turn so that you can almost touch the curb on the inside for each one. I say almost, because hitting it will slow you down a bit. Getting as close as possible without touching it will speed up your lap times.

If you're hitting the curb, or crossing into the grass, you're going to slowly. If you're not able to get close enough to the inside, then you're taking it too quickly. Use that as a basis and it'll help you get around the track more smoothly.

From there, you can improve, of course, but it's a good way to learn the track if you haven't got much experience yet.

Correctamundo as always Morgoth. 117 corners is a lot of places to find little improvements and ways to beat the AI. As they say "you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?"

The 650pp Nurburgring used to be one of my favorite events, there are so many cars that can beat it. But if you need to stack things in your favor, along with the other suggestions I can also say try a LMP/Group C car nerfed to the pp limit...

EDIT: A while back I did it in the Audi R8 '01, the quickest car I tried so far (video of that here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXIyhxMnMpM).

If none of this works, and your just a terrible Nurb driver... borrow a -pp X1.
 
Another option to take the faster AI cars out of the equation - choose a far lower PP car. The opposition gets changed to suit. Even so, I did it easily enough in the GTR-35.

I've learned not to use the cars that commonly win in these events as the next high placed contender generally gets a boost to beat whatever previously won - ie: the car you have chosen.
 
Another thing you could do is to turn ON the racing line again. You do have it turned off right? Practice with the line turned on for a while.

After a race, when you have lost, or not won 1st, you can enter the winning AI car using the playback feature and watch how the AI drives. They really are PLODDERS and you can easily out-drive them. Heck, I have won that race with an Aston Martin V12 Vantage which is not particulary speedy, and I'm 70 years old?!?!?! Any race car can win that race, Zonda R '09, Bentley, Peugeot 908/905, Toyota TS02, Nissan 92CP, 391. Even a CT237 will win it!

Nope non of it is working always a mclaren f1 or a zonda R beating me and when I pick the same car mine is wheel spinning itself into an oblivion rather than just going in a straight line or it like am driving on ice and I have the best tyres on and max downforce even upped the spring ratio to reduce wheel spin but no doesn't help think I will just write this one off as B******* :(

But thanks to you all for trying to help it is appreciated :)
 
Have you tried srf on and increased traction control? They will help alot
 
Yep I have but they slow the car down too much on the corners :(

that race was my go to farming before the ferrari F1 challenge
GTR R35 TC, NOMAD Diablo and the Citroen GT Racing Car always got me easy wins
even with the mclaren or zonda in the first place (iirc the mclaren is the fastest of the ai cars, so try to restart until you have something else starting 1st if you're struggling)
 
it's an easy win with the nissan r390 gt1, and if you can't win with that, maybe a toyota minolta. it's one of the fastest lmp's.
 
Ok. I have the solution... your just not an experienced nurb driver: get one of those -pp X1s.. for sure win
 
You said you're increasing the spring ratio in order to reduce wheelspin, I was always of the impression that a softer setup reduces wheelspin.
 
I am an experienced nurb driver I just borrowed someone else's zonda R which had worse handling than mine and I won it first time the difference was the grid I didn't have to race against another zonda or a mclaren f1 the lead car was a corvette which I could catch with ease on the big straight unlike when I tried with mine and the lead car was at the end of the straight when I was getting to the beginning of it :/

No the more you push the wheel to the ground the less traction there will be :)

Right.

Firmer springs=more push to the ground.
Less traction=more wheelspin.

Anyway, I generally soften everything to min. and start from there.
 
Nissan GT-R R35 TC.
I always used this car for this race, never lets me down.
it's also important to stay away from the curbs when going around the "ring" in low slung race cars. ;)
