Getting smarter... I think?

Damn it 3:00 a.m. again

Anyway, since I joined this site I've found ways to do things faster (especially since I have Dial up).

Somethings I've done are...

- Used the "user control panel" to get around instead of just going to the Homepage or "GTP Forums" section.

- When inserting smilies from the left of this area...

I've started to copy and paste the address link, save it in
a notepad file in my documents, and make a short cut to it on
the desktop (sound like more work than it seems but it isn't
for me).

Even more recent what I will be doing is placing whatever I
use frequently in a reply thread so it shows up as the web
code. Then copy and paste that to my notepad file containing
all GTP stuff so that when I go to do a reply I open my short
cut, copy and paste whatever to the reply and that's it.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Something else that you might want to do is start utilizing the "Forum Jump". It's often overlooked, but it can be used to directly access nearly every part of the forums without having to load another page. I use it often if I'm forced to browse via 56k.

Overlooked?! I use it every single time I visit GTP to change forums. It is the most useful feature of GTP, IMO.

Yeah, same here. /\ Also, are you aware that you can change your skin to GTP Lite? Its made for people that have slower connections. Less images to load, and not quite so much code to load up the forums (I think).

Hm... is that what lite is? Anyway, I don't use that... instead I have subscribed to all the forums that I want in the "user control panel". From there any mail stating a reply I do not open so I doesn't build up in my stupid AOL mail folder and instead go back to the user control panel where it shows up as the posts that I'm subscribed to. If there are new posts that I don't know about from the different forums then I go to "new posts".

Yeah, GTP lite makes the forum run a little faster. Less code and less graphical, err stuff. Mind you i've switched to cable now, but i'm too used to GTPL to change back to the default.

I always get freaked out when I see the default style. I'm like 'whoa, that's real slick' and then I realise I haven't signed on.

Ok, ok i'm rambling now.

I guess I'm a sucker or I feel left out but I couldn't deal with GTP lite. It's so bla... boring... oh well... slow and pretty or boring and fast.
