Getting Started with GPL-Need help/advice

Hi guys. I have just downloaded the 2004 GPL Demo and I want to install mods on it. I have downloaded GEM+, but it wont let me direct the file to the right path. Someone pleased help. I also want the 1967 season, and I guess that it isn't available as a mod for the demo? Am I better off buying GPL? Thanks in advance.
