I was checking out the lateral grip on some supercars and racecars and I notices that the stock setups in gt5 are pretty good. The cars in gt5 pull pretty much the same g's as the real counter part. I was playing arcard mode with stock cars and stock setup and notice what a challenge it is to win a race. Increasing the horsepower, changing suspension, transmission and tires really give you an unfair advantage over the ai. I think if we stick to the stock tires atleast we will realize how fun gt5 can be. And take off all driving aids except abs.

Realised that long time ago, still very true though, especially online.

No, fully tuned with racing tyres is the way to go. And with all driving aids on of course :D
I won using the FTO touring car in GTAllstars (Trial Mountain). I have to use a car which is fully tuned under 600PP.

I find doing arcard mode, single player race set on professional using a stock car very challenging. For street cars use sport hard and racing cars use racing hard.

I think the most fun aspect of the game is competing against real drivers online in roughly equal conditions, where driving and tuning abilities, or lack thereof, determine who is fastest. RS tires, SS tires, any tires, I don't care, they all have their advantages and disadvantages and they are all a separate challenge.

The issue is that some cars simply break the 'rules' as they are not equal.

GT5 needs an "event creator" in the worst way.

Arcade mode, pro difficulty, detune your car = one of the rare methods of getting a good race. Even with that, the a.i. still have a confusing habit of braking on turn-exit.

That's fun for no one. 👎
