I got curious as to how bad certain parts of US (or anywhere for that matter) can get.
Share some experiences if possible. This is fascinating stuff.

I got stuck downtown the other day with my brother(on spring break) in the car with me. Nothing like sitting in bumper to bumper traffic in some ghetto ass projects(I don't care what Doug says. Right when you get off the Cooper River bridges it is still GHETTO!) with huge groups of people hanging out fighting, drinking, pissing(yes, we saw a few drunks pissing), playing basketball, etc. We even saw like 16 year olds walking down the road drinking beer.We got lost on our way to the Charleston Aquarium/IMAX theater. Damn, what fun it was to be two white kids under 20 driving a loud ass new Cobra through a predominantly black neighborhood with people staring, and screaming ****.

That is one of my worst fears right there. Getting stuck and/or getting lost in a bad part of town.
If I am in ghetto country I won't stop even if there is a cop behind me. I don't feel like getting shot over a car. I will happily take and speeding ticket or fine they wan't to give me. It is better than getting shot in the temple and dragged out of your car.
Anyone who knows parts of Scarborough (around Toronto) knows that there are definatly some areas that are not the safest place to be, even during the day.
