Nexon announced it had obtained the rights to the Ghost in the Shell franchise to produce an MMO based off the Stand Alone Complex series.
The FPS MMO will give players an option to play as cyber terrorists or as a member of Section 9. And there will be plenty of character customization that will even allow you to chose how much of a cyborg you want to be. As of now those are the only details.
The developers are Neople, the team behind Dungeon Fighter Online.
There's no details of what systems it will be on or if it will appear outside of Japan. Here's hoping. Of all the anime universe, GITS would be a fun one to explore with all the cybernetics and stuff. I wonder if they'll get the original voice actors to voice The Major and the others.
