Ghosts..

do you believe in Ghosts?

quick story...

my wife and i went last year to the fine city of York, (famine's neck of the woods) and we visited a pub there supposed to be the most haunted pub in England...it was so busy that we went elsewhere...we went to a place in the center of town that has a roman bath beneath it. When the pub was being renovated a few years back, the owners decided to build some cellars beneath the premisis and after a few weeks they found some ancient formations in the ground and called in some archaeolgists and they proclaimed that is the remains of a roman bath...

when the labourers went down to reinforce the foundations they sat with thier feet in the hot springs and enjoyed their lunch...then they started to hear noises coming from the walls...its was like the sound of banging metal getting louder and louder, then the sound of marching feet as well and horses neighing wildly and the two men stood up and apparently watched a whole battalion on roman soldiers with swords and shields and a company of cavalrymen march right through the area where they were sitting....once they passed, the two men fled to the bar above proclaiming that they had seen ghosts and surely someone must have heard it as the niose was deafening...

no one heard it but the story is still told in this pub on the walls and its the only pub in the world where you can go for a pint of beer and take a bath afterwards....my wife and i went for a paddle in the baths and its a bit spooky to say the least...

have you ever seen a ghost?, do you believe? have you seen or even felt someting that cant be explained?

what about entering a house and just feeling that there is someone else there...perhaps a hotel room or late at the office..?
 
I have seen a ghost exactly one time.

I was walking past a room on my hopital unit, and out of the corner of my eye I saw somebody sitting in the chair on the far side of the room.
Knowing that no one was assigned that room as a patient, I thought little about it. It is rather common for patient's family members to duck into an empty room to use the phone.
However on this occasion. I stopped, backed up and took another look in the room (only seconds had passed), and there was no one in the room.
And I'm SURE that I saw somebody in that chair as I passed...
 
i've got seti@home running on every computer i can install it to. i'm still looking for the link to the cancer research version though. considering my family history, i need it
 
I don't believe in the super-natural. That's just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo. There are no proven documents of ghosts. So, that's why I don't belive in them.
 
With me it's "I'd have to see it to believe it." And even then I still don't think I 'd believe it. Same thing with aliens or UFOs. Your mind just plays tricks on you and you end up trying to explain it so you call it a ghost/UFO/Alien.

the same could be said of God....but still millions of us believe....

i have never seen a ghost with my own eyes....but jesus god i have felt something horrid when i visited an antiques warehouse in the town that i live in....it was a seperate little room offset from the rest of the warehouse....it was dimly lit by an electric lamp with an antique oak table and 13 chairs round it.....however right around the walls were antique grandfather clocks...about 30 of them....i felt that if i closed my eyes and opend them i would see people holding a seance in there.....staring at me..

when i entered, the scene was so surreal and i felt like i needed to leave right away...it is in an old church and the vault seemed to resonate with a palpable sadness...i felt nervous and my stomach knotted...i just had to leave.....

i couldnt see it but there was something untangable in that room and it knew i was there.....what ever the hell it was.....

i have since asked people i know to go and visit the room and they feel the same way....

do we really needto see things with our own eyes in order to believe?



i have another story that happened to me and a bunch or friends that i think you'll find rather more disturbing.......but later..

I don't believe "Cooter No-teeth" from Alabama when he says he saw an alien"Hoverin up in dem dere tree's"

I do believe in the possibility of extra-terrestrial life existing elsewhere in our universe. The sheer magnitude of our universe leaves me with no doubt that somewhere, somewhere there has to be other systems of life developing.

I don't even mean aliens that drive space ships and probe your ass and rape your cows. I am talking about even on a micro-scopic level.

I just don't see how we can be the only ones...

I certainly DO agree with that. I totally believe that there could be other organisms either microscopic or macro. I guess I was referring to "Cooter No-Teeth" type of aliens:lol: :lol: .

But don't get me wrong I can certainly believe that there could be other organisms. There are so many other planets out there that it's entirely possibly that one may have a similar enough atmosphere (or temp. or whatever) to earth to create humanoid creatures. And even then, other organisms may have/will evolve to fit other atmoshperes.

The number of planets out there is incomprehensible. The number of single planets in a galaxy is huge. And just think how many other galaxies there are. And dare I say... how many more universes!! ARRG!! Makes your head spin.:crazy: :boggled: :crazy:

* Waiting for CB to bring documents that un-prove ghosts *

I believe in both ghosts and ET's.. I've seen a bit of odd stuff after tampering with stuff I probably shouldn't have tampered with (And no, I don't refer to drugs :trouble: )

I'm an estate agent i often have to do valuations and viewings in empty houses where the owner has deceased. Believe me, i've had doors shutting, things moving inside the house and lights turning on. May sound like bull crap but if you were you would know that something was very strange

ghosts? well i wont say i believe in them but i have had experiences. the bible states that once you die you ceace to be. and you're not even supposed to realise you're dead until resurrection, but that does not explain ghosts.
a group of friends and i went on a holiday and rented out a beach house for a week and a half. little did we know that the house was haunted. the real estate agents denied it but we spoke to locals and yes, it was haunted. we stayed for the 10 days and had a really good holiday, despite lack of sleep.
i recently went on a ghost tour, (on halloween midnight-ish) and nothing extraordinary happened the whole night. we heard great stories about the history of particular sites in sydney but nothing happened until we were taken into the home of the guide. as soon as i walked into the basement my body felt weak, like fatigued, and my legs were heavy. i had to be helped up the stairs, but after walking out the front door i felt normal again.
i dont know what reason would explain that.
i would like to hear a few stories while we're on the topic, but authentic, no BS 'friend of a friend' stories
 
I lived in a house back in Washington State, and if it wasn't ghosts, then it was aliens. If it wasn't aliens, then we had invisible people in there I swear.

2 of my brothers claim to have seen a boy dressed in white leaning against the wall right outside my bedroom, at the same time

My other brother heard growling in that house.

My mom claimed to have been woken up hearing somebody vomiting (violently, like youre very VERY sick) and she was so worried that she ran out of the bedroom to see which of us was sick, she even woke us all up to ask if we had just thrown up.

I always saw shadows moving out the corner of my eye, and, while alone in the house, heard what sounded like people arguing.

We all heard heavy-boot, like combat boot, footsteps in the kitchen at night. stuff disappeared and reappeared right where it was supposed to be.
 
ICN, thanks for sharing that, i got shivers reading it.
in the holiday house i mentioned in an above post we constantly heard footsteps going up and down the stairs at the most unusual times. and it wasnt just the stairs. above the living room was the main bedroom. if you were sitting on the floor in the main bed room and looked down you could see the living room through the cracks in the floor boards.
this one was told to me after we came back from the holiday by one of the girls.
one day when everybody went out to get groceries two girls stayed behind to watch the house. whilst sitting on the couch talking they heard loud foot steps up stairs, right above them in the main bedroom, no one else was home and it was the middle of the day. the foot steps stopped right above them and then they got a feeling like someone was looking at them.
they were glad to see us when we came back from the markets. i thought they were just hungry. =)
that is only one of the stories about that creepy house, there are many more experiences we went through during those ten days.
 
i belive in ghosts. I have never seen any, but i have noticed their presence many times. A girl i know used to live in an old scary house. and sometimes she heard footsteps and doors slammed when there was noone there...
 
Ghosts dont exist!!! they are usually made from projectors and the solid lookin ones wear masks to scare ppl of the island so they can get their money

Believe in ghosts

Actually where i use to live i use to feel one standing right behind me, but i neva saw anything. Since i have moved i dont get that feeling any more and also a few years back when i was living there and neighbour died as well.

Also after a mate past away, on another mates car had his name on. He thought it was my bro who wrote it since they had to same name but it wasnt him and it was written the same way my mate who pasted away would of written it, now thats freaky.
