This is not in the patch notes. A couple of mentions about the G40 but not this car and not the changes that have happened.

Basically they've given this car rock hard suspension and have removed the option to change it. I suspect SMS wanted to make this more of a beginners car with fewer setup options but on watching a public lobby race today the opposite was true. I saw people going off all over the place. Beginners and casual racers most likely. I used to like having the odd race in this. I used to find it therapeutic but I it seems many who used to race in these are being turned off by the changes. Public lobby races with this car are now much fewer with lesser participants and some of those that do join usual quit when they discover the car has become more difficult to drive.

The hard suspension has made it twitchy over bumps and even some heavily cambered corners. Over kerbs it's far more deadly than many much higher powered cars.

I don't understand the decision to make a beginners car harder to drive, or as least harder to drive without making mistakes. Is this simulating a real car where the suspension is pre-set hard? Do SMS want to reduced the number of people playing it? Do SMS want people to stop attempting to ride kerbs ... for some reason or other, because that's the safest way to drive it now? It has created a bigger gap between the good and average players.

Alienating the beginner/casual player base doesn't seem like a wise move to me and not one I can see reasonable justification for [other than real car simulation].

I made a "fix" video for those who may be looking for answers

I've got a league series (tuning prohibited) planned for this car so was a bit worried when I read your post, but after trying it again it feels perfect to me. I tried Silverstone Classic, Knockhill and Brands Hatch GP - I was able to lose control at Brands by deliberately taking too much kerb, but the car felt great - a nice invigorating and lively drive - still perfect for a good series - so enjoyable I didn't want to stop racing, but I need to slow the old ticker down well before lights out!

One car I found that has been really badly affected by the update is the BMW 2002 SW - it used to be a match for the big Merc AMG 6.8 saloon, but now it seems to have lost all its grip. Those two cars seem to keep changing when we have updates.

Not surprised you can drive it. Also not surprised he's complaining about the game yet again.

Right after getting the patch I continued my career in the Ginetta GT5. It had been some time since I last drove it, but it handled much the same as I remembered.

The one thing I can attest to is hydroplaning can be deadly - I was racing at Silverstone and hitting a large patch of water at best would be unsettling. Caught at the wrong moment and it would be an immediate spin.

I don't think this is wrong or crazy though. Plowing through large patches of standing water would tend to have an effect me thinks. ;) It just backs up why I don't care for racing in monsoons.

Otherwise the car seemed to handle very responsibly and provided a lot of fun, just like it did pre-patch.

Maybe a lot of people set it up really stiff, but I was testing this for a league a day before patch 4 and patch 4.1. I never used to get air over the kerbs or rounding Hawthorns at Brands either. Still no mention of why they changed the options in the patch notes.

Must be a love hate setup.
