I have to do a race with some friends — here are the car and track details:

Track: Deep Forest
Laps: 27
Time Multiplier: x24
Start Time: Sunrise

Cars:
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm '20
  • BMW M4 '14
Performance Points (PP): 703 PP
Power: 450 HP
Weight: 1300 kg
Tires: All types allowed
Required Tires: None

I’d really appreciate any advice on which car to use, and if possible, a setup to start working from. I’ll then fine-tune it based on my driving style, but having a base setup would already be a big help.

Thanks a lot!

I havent had a proper look at either of the cars but, this would be a good base to play with for the Alfa
For this, I would not do the stage 3 weight reduction as with ballast, you can't get it back up to the 1300kg, use the restrictor and ECU settings to bring the power down to the 450HP
Another thing to consider is the turbo; the mid RPM turbo may offer a broader powerband.

Having said all that, I would probably start with the BMW, as stock it offers more torque per HP than the Alfa, and I would think with the BMW, if you can install the Bore up and Stroke up to get the displacement increased, it would be beneficial.

Both cars are cheap enough to buy and easily avalible so have a go at building a couple and show them off and how they feel.
might get more feedback that way.

It looks as though with your HP and weight, you may struggle to get to the 700pp limit with either car, although i cant remember the PP difference between the sports soft and racing tyres so slapping a set of racing tyres may get you there.
