Hello,everybody.
I have a problem. My car is Nissan Skyline R30, engine model is L20. I need a new commutator but I don't know the model. I found many commutators, here in my town, but which of them is for my car.
I want to know a model of commutator for my car.
Please, Help me.Give me some information.

PS:Sorry for my Ånglish.

If I recall my GCSE Physics correctly, a commutator is a split-pin (although it'd be larger in a car) which makes a motor work.

Other than that... *shrug*

Uhhh...maybe you could jsut get an RB26 dumped in there. Heh, that'd be one sick sleeper. But I'm not sure about this...thigny your talkina bout. Rc?

he said it has a L20 so it cant be a RC (RC = remote control)

He's posted the same thing on Automotive Forums. If he posts a picture I am sure it can be figured out what it is he is asking. It almost sounds like a crank angle sensor, or ecu.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about either Plug wires or a part inside of the electric coil that holds a charge in order for the engine to crank over. I would say look up a local Nissan dealer to give you some advice.

hi, all.I talk about a real skyline. Toyomatt84 is right(a part inside of the electric coil ).I can give you a picture now but ofter one or two weeks I'll have more information.

Ok I can understand what you mean now. Be right back with some info. for you.

I didn't have time to go through them all, so here is the list of companies in Australia that can do the job, or give you info. on how to do it.
Link!

I would recommend to just replace the entire coil. Simply put, commutators are way harder to come by and usually aren't much cheaper than buying a new coil. So, in essence, it isn't worth the hunt.

Used to run an L20 in my Bluebird that I owned a few years ago, Couldnt say if a ever crapped a commutator or not, but it did **** a resister at one stage and the thing just wouldnt start, it would fire but wouldnt stay on
