I think it's a great idea to have that on premiums. it adds a type of intensity and excitement to driving. it adds more masculinity to premium cars in gt5.

I agree that it would be cool, but if it's that or a few tracks, I'll take the tracks. I hardly use the cockpit view, but I know others love it.

We'll see what 6 has to offer.

I agree it would be cool to see more detail on premium glass. The dashboard reflection on Shift was a nice touch and dirt/oil build up would add to realism as well. Its probably the area in witch premium cockpits can improve the most in the future.

I would just hope the breakage isn't as sensitive as it was in Grid. If you bumped something you wouldn't be able to see a thing through the cracks and the next contact would remove the windscreen altogether.

maybe like after a handful of bumps the windshield can crack moderately and if you crash hard enough the whole thing would shatter and aerodynamics would reduce because air will reach the cockpit and create so much air resistance.

Yeah sure. If they can make it work realistically I'm all for it. I don't think we'll see anything like this anytime soon unfortunately.

I can already see how this would play out. And I am going off PD's damage model.

Kaz would want every piece of glass shatter like it would in real life, so it would break differently depending on where someone hit you or how you hit someone or something else. This would be very complex just like what they tried to do with the damage model in GT5 which is horrid.

So no thanks on the glass breaking, since it would be to complicated for them to replicate, also I don't want glass melting or the whole windshield falling in my lap still intact.

I am a windscreen fitter for Autoglass. Would love a feature in GTauto where you got any broken glass replaced, with one of our vans beside the car!:)
